So caught up in how good we were last night, forgot to check the rag score. What a pleasant surprise when I found out.

Give it Giggseh...

I don't want to go on rag cafe for fear of viral contamination, but what is the overall opinion from the great unwashed on there regarding Maureen's latest hissy-fit? Are they all behind him singing from the same sheet or do some of them actually have the requisite amount of brain cells required in order to form an opinion of their own?

Any rag who says he's happy with the record-breaking amount of money that club has spent, and yet still has to sit through that awful 'football' Maureen dishes out is a liar. And it must be particularly irksome to them to see the way we play.
They're half and half.

"If you go game after game with Manchester u****d and see what happened here with Manchester City, what happened here with Burnley, with West Ham, with Stoke and almost everywhere, then you do the job and it is a public service I think. Tell the truth, it is as simple as that."

You got tonked, you drew, you drew, you drew.

He doesn't have the discipline to play in our set up.

Tbf he would be playing under a vastly superior manager with players who are a huge level above, if he was at City, so it's difficult to tell.

He was no doubt expecting a big increase in standards when he moved from Juve to Mourinho's Special Utd, & has instead found himself playing results football in a modern day version of Fat Sam's Bolton team.

No wonder he's a bit confused.

Just a sample..

The biggest problem is his short term vision. Not his problem btw, but Uniteds. And that's why i don't like him.
You want immediate results? He's your man (although...). But don't expect him to build a team for the future. Cause Jose will be long gone and doesn't give a crap in what state he leaves the club.
I really don't care for him walking away from Interviews, giving stick to journalist. They are all out to stir shit and get a few clicks on their website.
Nah screw that. Moyes was shit and he rightfully didn't get a second season. LVG met the minimum requirement and then won a trophy and he still got dumped. By this point in the season people were already calling for their respective heads. If he fails then he does not deserve a second season. His last managerial stint was an unmitigated disaster and failure here says the special one is no more.
I didn't want him to come here. I didn't like him at the start. I didn't like him during our good phase. I don't like him now and most likely I will not like him in the future. I think he is an utter cnut and flipping childish, but somehow he gets away here with statements like "I didn't count their first goal, so in my eyes it's still 1-1".

He is a grumpy man, who is a bad loser and a bad winner. There is hardly aanthing he does or says that can get a faint smile on my face.
What bothers me is last night he decides to spend his interview playing his little media games again trying to be clever and make critical comments about his treatment by officials and the FA but without saying anything they can punish him for. As if we are where we are simply due to poor refing and inconsistency from the FA. Not that this hasn't happened but we are where we because of a total lack of ability to convincingly beat weaker opposition. Was a goalless draw with Hull really that shocking considering we only managed to win away with a last minute goal, beat palace in the final minutes, beat boro with two late goals, two draws with stoke, a goalless draw with Burnley, a home draw with West Ham, a nervy win and a fairly late goal against Sunderland. The only game we have won in the league with ease I can think of was leicester and Swansea. That's the more alarming problem.

Could soon be time for #sopeg

Does anyone think Maureen will be castigated by the BBC for him disrespecting their journalist given his parting comment and the way he walked out of the post-match interview? Somehow, I highly doubt it but I'm not on social media to see if anything is kicking about.

Just reinforces the way different clubs are treated by the media and especially The Rags!

Wonder if Robbie Savage will be shouting his mouth off about how disrespectful Maureen was to the BBC journalist on the same basis he did about Guardiola after the Burnley game?

I'm surprised how negative the RedCafe thread on him is.

They're very unhappy about his treatment of Martial and Shaw, the fact Ibrahimovic and Pogba seem to be above reproach even when they play badly, and the use of Rooney.

1 win in 5, and that was against Reading, so I suppose it's been building, but this was the first time I'd looked on there for 6 weeks or so and the difference is astounding.

It's no different from the flak Guardiola was getting on here a while back when we couldn't string together 2 wins on the bounce. Seeing as Maureen is a **** though, it's infinitely more deserved.

The knives are out and being sharpened!
WIll a 6th place finish and missing out on the League Cup by getting beaten 1 - 0 by Southampton see him gone?
Surely they don't sack managers at the Old Toilet after 1 season?

Spain broke him. He is no longer special, just another bore.
His victim routine is tiresome esp when you consider what they have got away with this season, offside goals and avoiding yellows and reds. They would be 20 points behind us if both of us were treated fairly by the officials

I can't see them sacking him. First of all, it would cost a fortune to get rid of him, second they would have to admit they were wrong and thirdly who else would they go for?

Cause Jose will be long gone and doesn't give a crap in what state he leaves the club.
This is why his appointment smacked more of desperation from your board than practical nous. Like Pulis or Fat Sam for a team facing possible relegation, basically a port in a storm. But the difference with Maureen is that those two are fairly well-liked by the media, he isn't. And petulant outbursts like yesterday's will help neither him or the club.
He was a breath of fresh air when he first turned up with the Chavs: a personable enough chap with a cheery smile, a quirky little soundbite for the media, and a knack of getting the best out of the players at his disposal - albeit with dour, uninspiring football.
But he's been in decline for a long time now. His second spell at Chelsea ended in total disarray, with most of the players seemingly unwilling to play for him any more. That and the nasty incident with the physio just tarnished his reputation even further.

He just seems to go out of his way to cause controversy all the time. Bad-mouthing other managers, players, referees, journalists etc.
In some cases he might be justified in his condemnations, but he should keep all that to himself and his inner sanctum, not stand in front of a TV camera, with possibly millions of people watching, looking like he's just crawled out of bed with the mother of all hangovers: wildly gesticulating, eyes-bulging and ranting like a paranoid piss-head over these perceived injustices.

Nothing ever ends well with Maureen, and I don't see his time with the rags being an exception.

Moyes - sacked as soon as CL qualification became an impossibility.
Turtle - survived first season with 4th place finish, sacked after winning FA cup in second season when he missed out on top 4 on the final day.

What makes you think the LC final result will have any bearing on whether Maureen survives or not?

You forget they smashed the mighty Wigan

659 million don't you know? ;)
