Match Thread | Tottenham vs. Manchester City (01/02/26)

Sadly, too many of these players just aren't up to the job. Careless, sloppy and struggling with the basics. We've made a woeful Spurs team look good.

How many times are we going to throw games away. Two, nil up and we come out for the second half absolutely lacklustre. Spurs tails are up, whilst we're sat back doing fuck all.

Will we win the league this season? No

If it's down to four points, if I'm in charge of the purse strings at City, I'd seriously consider bringing in a ball winning midfielder in before next week. This could be the difference in us wrestling the league title back.

Elliot Anderson | Opening bid rejected (p189)

Likewise. A tremendous player who never really got the credit he deserved. He always went about his business providing an air of calmness for all around him.

Elliot Anderson | Opening bid rejected (p189)

Fernandinho was a one off, he had absolutely everything. The role he played allowed the more creative players to flourish, safely in the knowledge that he was behind them. Likewise, the defence had that added layer of protection, which made us extremely difficult to penetrate.

Whilst we have brought in a lot of quality players, I'm surprised that we haven't spent a few quid on a bit more pace and mobility. Our midfield, for as technically savvy as they are they lack recovery pace.

Wolves (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Two goals, three points and a clean sheet is what we needed after the last seven days. Defence looked pretty secure, but the pressure we put ourselves under is due to a lack of pace in our midfield getting back and picking up the runners. The frustrating aspect is that we are probably only a...

I think it's imperative that we sign a top quality midfielder before the window shuts, as it could determine CL qualification, which is an absolute must. We look dreadful in the middle of the park, completely void of pace, power and control. Against the rags they ran through us like we weren't...

    Perspective (2026 Edition)

We've had a golden era where we had players who were absolutely at the top of their game. Kompany, DeBruyne, Silva, Aguero and Fernandinho to name but a few. Sadly, through players of that calibre being seemingly unavailable we have replaced them with decent players, but not like for like in...

    Bodo/Glimt (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

The biggest concern for me was the lack of reaction after the Derby and the fact that the performance was an exact carbon copy. No legs in the middle, defence all at sea, a distinct lack of creativity and the most worrying of all, the fact that marginal offside decisions prevented us from taking...

    Bodo/Glimt (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

Without being reactionary, I think there's serious problems within the camp. Losing is one thing, but in the last two games we simply haven't competed, having been run all over by two average sides. We look void of ideas, interest and effort, with the players looking disheartened. As for Pep...

Is it just me who thinks something's off at the moment. The players body language is giving off an air of deflation, almost disinterest. Pep just doesn't seem right either. I'm getting the impression all isn't well within the camp.

I tend to agree with you. The five most influential players for me have been David Silva, Vincent Kompany, Kevin DeBruyne. Sergio Aguero and Fernandinho. Not only were the exceptional players, they ran through brick walls and genuinely loved the club. Replacing that quality with that type of...

    Welcome Marc Guehi!

This is a brilliant signing. He's big, quick, strong, a good reader of the game and a leader. Ticks all the right boxes.
