Wolves (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Managed game when they have big one Wednesday and then three big ones the following week.

Lot will be determined. Can somehow get through Spurs and Liverpool and the schedule opens up much better. Arsenal will continue to drop points.
0 points out of those games

Thought we played well in the first half without being at our best. We scored two goals from quick forward play, probably our fastest and most attacking bit of play for a while
Having Bernardo and Rodri working together in front of the back four worked well. Guehi had a good debut, solid defensively and played a few good strong forward passes.
Disappointed that Semenyo's strike in the second half didn't go in, that would have been a lovely goal.
It was a chance for Reijnders to shine today but he didn't grasp the bull by the horns, Marmoush however performed well.
My favourite part of the game was definitely Guehi, O'Reilly and Khus throwing themselves at the ball blocking shots at the end, we haven't seen that for a while. The celebrations after that were great to see, good team spirit.

We needed those three points, as we do on Wednesday, come on City.

There's no guarantee they'll drop em' tomorrow though, you can't usually rely on the rags for anything ....

Exile, formerly of the M22 parish.

Former Maine Road season ticket holder, but had to give it up when my career made it difficult to get to games regularly.

I get to games when I can, but currently working in the USA, so not that easy these days. My dad was there today though.

Not sure we learned a lot from today.

Great to win. We didn't collapse. Shooting more often was worthwhile. Maybe it's just as notable what didn't happen?

What isn't measurable is the feeling and the bonding. So it could be a nondescript but important day for us.

2 assaults on Doku in a week and both dismissed.
Fuckin awful officiating.
Good 3 points and very welcome but we didn't kick on in the 2nd half and Wolves could have sneaked a couple.
Marc Guéhi is a big plus.
The rake down his Achilles in the 88th minute by Mosquera was a red all day long. Don’t get me started on the arm in a natural position for the non penalty bollox

Two goals, three points and a clean sheet is what we needed after the last seven days. Defence looked pretty secure, but the pressure we put ourselves under is due to a lack of pace in our midfield getting back and picking up the runners. The frustrating aspect is that we are probably only a quality, mobile midfielder away from possibly closing the gap if Arsenal have a wobble. Despite our struggles we still find ourselves in second place and still in the race, however, I fear our midfield will struggle against the better teams due to this deficiency.
