The steward is wrong.

It’s not in the ground regulations:

However, you must comply with all instructions from a steward or member of the police (Reg 24)

Interestingly, re-entry is not permitted at our second home, see regulation 25:

All you wankers complaining about stewards, but guess what, no stewards = no football! Yes there are mini hitlers who act like bell ends, but there is a LOT of fans who behave like pissed up kids constantly making it shite for other fans. Most of this new H&S bullshit comes from terror attacks, blame them, not the poor bastards trying to implement stupid rules.

I’ll be honest with you I don’t class stewards as anything . They are not ob and are the same as me . I just tell them we’re to get off

It’s a problem certainly. They’re not equipped to deal with physical violence on that scale. They’re neither armed nor protected body-wise. So...... do we need armed security for both “ordinary” violence and “suspected terrorism”

i always get into the ground early, home and away. i do an instagram blog where i post pictures from every ground. at everton i got in early before anyone was in the away end or on the pitch. i walked to the bottom of the stand only to be grabbed round the neck by a steward to stop me walking any further, i explained i just wanted to take some pics on my phone and as i was the only one in the end i didnt see and issue as id move to my seat later. he told me that i had violated my ticket rules by standing elsewhere and preceded to march me to the concourse where i was threatened with expulsion. small things let this really piss me off and take the fun out of going. meanwhile lads throw beer and sniff/smoke in the concourse.

I literally had one foot out of the exit so quickly about turned to return and get it. I was immediately clotheslined across my chest with some force by a female steward snarling I couldn't go back in once I had left. I think my momentum and the force she thrust her arm out, meaning i was hit with some power shocked her as she quickly apologised for hitting me but said she couldn't let me back in. I replied that was ridiculous, I had left something under my seat it would take me seconds to go and get it. No I was not allowed back in! Luckily for me the head steward, the rasta guy who is a decent chap, overruled her but had to escort me back to my seat and wait, then ensure I left.

What the fuck is it with stewards and treating football fans, who are paying customers by the way, like some sort of criminal to be shoved and denied a simple request to return and get something they have left behind? Who makes up such a stupid rule anyway? I get you can't have loads of fans traipsing back into the stadium willy nilly but surely common sense should be applied when someone has forgotten something? She didn't know what I had left and wasn't interested, it was she had her orders and no way was I going back in. Kudos to the head steward for showing some common sense but I was still treated as if I was doing something wrong. He even said, " I have had a word Barbara" as I left. Going to a game these days is like being a visitor to a cat A prison!

Is this Barbara the elderly steward in the South Stand mate? If it is, it seems totally out of character for her as she's normally sound. Either way, it is ridiculous because you could've left something really important like medication, etc.
