Should we prioritise Champions League now?

Unless we move to a PlanB with a more solid defence we haven't got a cat in hells chance.
How about maybe deploying Walker in a CB role in a back three, utilising Cancelo at RB, having Fern and Rodri as holding defensive midfielders, then pick your remaining five outfield players and you've still got a solid attacking formation.

Problem is we need Cancelo as the Wing back in this system, as well as Mendy.

That would mean we didn't need to have BS, Mahrez and Raheem playing wide.

Ederson
Walker Stones Laporte
Cancelo Rodri Dinho Mendy
KdB BS
Kun
Obviously it's not a Pep line up so can't see it being implemented.

UEFA can't stand us, so can't see them letting us start with 12 players from the off

The Champions League is so tight that 100% concentration on that is dangerous. It could ruin the season.

I have had concerns that Guardiola might leave at the end of this season, but his comments the other day (about not replacing Silva in the summer) make me think he will stay for at least one more season. As for the club spending this summer, Sam Lee has posted an article today saying we're looking at bringing in five players this summer but who knows if it's true.
Can't see that.
The side needs rebuilding.
It would be wrong to let Pep bring in his players presumably to play to his system and then appoint another Manager who doesn't play the Pep way.
For me if Pep stays it has to be on the basis of extending his current contract to end 22/23 season.

I don't think the club will risk that. He needs to extend really to stay next season. Otherwise full of speculation and talk whats his next job is going to be. That could very well mean another shit season.

Would hate to see this season ruined.

4th and no trophies is a ruin. The constant travel and extra matches adds toil for a trophy that’s very hard to win.

I’d seriously prioritise the FA Cup and League Cup over the Champions League. It’s an awful competition in many ways.

God, you do talk some shite.

The only way to salvage this season in the eyes of every other football fan (not some city fans), manager, footballer, owner, commentator, press twats would be to lift the Champions league, the same thing that Liverpool did last season, hell they even got praise for reaching the final despite being miles behind us in the league.

I can't stand the Chumps league but my thoughts don't matter, players, managers and owners think different, again this is why Klopp blew off both domestic cups to make himself the hero by going balls deep to win the champions league.

We won everything domestically last season and not a fucking single person gave any credit for it, easy teams in the cup blah blah blah.

Fourth and the champs league would mean the 4th being glossed over but we will not finish fourth the other teams are fucking rubbish really, we will finish second or at worst third behind Leicester but I can easily see them dropping away after being humped twice this week.
