Confort zone player, could be up there with maradona if he had proved it elsewhere and let's be honest maradona did it in tougher playing conditions while charlied up and under death threats in proper cauldrons of stadia, not the tourist trip Camp Nou is nowadays
Absolutely, didn't really go to the very best team in the league too, he did it with 'decent' players, but gave them so much their own game rose levels above, Napoli being a case in point.

Putting aside the Man U narrative, I've heard via my sister-in-law in Madrid that he is actually perceived as a really nice guy over there. Off the pitch he is apparently a lot more down to earth and does a lot of charity stuff, auctioning some of his individual trophies for causes, gives blood etc.

One thing I think we can agree on is that he is ultra professional. To be 36 and still competing at the highest level says alot about his commitment to the game and love of winning football matches.
Love him or loath him, he's done it and very, very well for a hell of a long time.

Ex Raggy or not, he has had a Stella career.

the old man city would be all over it if a possible move was on the cards
but the new manchester city don't need statement players ? you have to work hard and play and give something to the team/squad.

Ronaldo is no longer a statement player, but he is still an effective player.

We aren't getting Ronaldo so please can we pretend that this thread never existed?

The fact that some of you are fantasising about him scoring and celebrating at the swamp, doing his cringe little celebration and kissing our badge is fucking unnerving.

Either the sun has really gotten to some of you or you're simply off your fucking heads.

And no, he's not fit to lace Messi's boots. "He's played in different leagues" is the exact kind of argument someone comes out with when they haven't watched much of either outside of highlights.
What annoys me about this line is that they use it against Messi as a negative. The class of rags, gerrard etc get lauded as one club career men. No one questions Scholes for not testing himself at a different club or league.

This is a bit like the Pretty Boy v Pacman fight, irrelevant by the time it happened, and neither was Nápoles.
