Political relations between UK-EU

Thick? only if you are a victim, like 90% of the population. Biggest heist in history, victory after victory in their war on the poor, surviving being exposed as racists, as robbers of public taxes, as sneering frauds unfit to be near public service, contemptuous of the public (deservedly so in the brexit vote), caught lying on a daily basis yet still in power. So, yeah, maybe thick, but that is nothing compared to the rest of their evil greedy anti-democratic dogma.
Without their partners-in-crime who control the media and the so-called floating voters who decide every election, the tory party would not have survived the thatcher slash and burn, the banking crisis, the way the pandemic was turned into a goldmine for tory donors, resulting in the deaths of many many thousands, the incestuous relationship with the met, a clown at n.10 and a chancellor with links to the maniac in moscow. FFS
Not a fan, then?

But other than that, what else have the tories ever done for us :)

So which **** wants to start an international trade war using Northern Ireland to placate some old farts and his gammon base in the UK?

Have I got this right? They want to introduce legislation to break international law?

There is room to simplify the checks and procedures at the border and the EU could definitely show more flexibility in this area.
But the problem for Johnson is that the EU will not renegotiate the protocol in the fundamental way the Government is demanding (trusted traders, UK over ECJ etc) and nothing less will be acceptable to the ERG ( and possibly the DUP).

And I doubt they trust that the UK will settle at any renegotiated plan without coming back for more again.
