Get the big decisions right... but he didn't and wasn't even fucking close - gave them a penalty: overturned; waved Haaland's penalty away: overturned; booked NOR for a 'foul' that Doku was on the receiving end everytime he had the ball at his feet (most of the time he called no foul, nevermind give a booking); Rudiger the most blatant second yellow you could see - nah, I'll let that one go. How anybody thought he had a good night is fucking baffling.

However we seem to have had that odd lunatic in a lot of our games this year

Feels like a real victory having to do go it against him too. Had a variable bar for yellow cards and fouls in general. Not giving the penalty and relying on var, now is that referee laziness or just poor officiating?

The second yellow, absolutely outrageous. How he can justify no card there but hand out bookings to us for less, just didn't implement the rules fairly. Very poor refereeing, whether thats because occasion got to him or he just didn't like us much I don't know, but yet another European competition referee to add to the "please not him again" list.

I want to see that lunge on Doku again too, suprise suprise TNT haven't mentioned it at all. He was obviously singled out for rough treatment by Madrid, but there was a challenge in the second half that seemed to be both feet off the ground and a scissor motion. I think Doku avoided it and carried on, but it looked very out of control.

That's what annoyed me most, he's a very good referee but was way off it tonight.

Him and the Polish fella that did our Champions League final against Inter are usually the best 2.
