City should by rights have been at Wembley for both domestic cup finals in 1981....thinking back there were riots all over UK in 1981,..... esp Liverpool ie toxteth....ref prob had his card marked before kick off...........

Like I say John Bond was like a breath of fresh air to me..came from nowhere .brought 3 great signings and City started winning games again!! Exciting times ,never to be forgotten.

I stopped going after John Bond’s first season, I thought then, and still do now, the man was a spiv.
Bought his son claiming him to be the best in the league in his position.
Who was the local half back he couldn’t wait to get rid of?

I always thought it was Kenny Clements he had a big problem with. Didn't Kenny chin Kevin Bond in training at some point?

Initially, there were a few criticisms in the match programme seemingly aimed at Nicky Reid, and there was definitely some tension when he bought his son the following season.

I remember Kevin Bond scoring against Everton and running towards the Kippax as though he'd proved everyone wrong.
 
That first season under Bond gave us some magical times and gave us Blues something to smile about after Allison.
Your post is a bit like saying I’ll never have a Christmas dinner again because I got breast instead of a leg.
Nicky Reid was one of my favourite players and I wasn’t too keen on Bond junior coming in.
But that’s no reason not to go

Clive Wilson..whose balance and composure on the ball , reminded me of Tigana of France...pure grace....I know it seems odd but that was my perception as a teenager.
Loved the way Wilson played the game.like Paul Lake ...head up, composure...time on the ball...a gift,you can't learn.

I remember going to Malc’s first home game. I was really excited. I bought a Dragan Stepanovic badge on Clarendon Road before the game. Whatever’s happened to Dragan Stepanovic?

Nicky Reid, that’s him.
I remember Bond snidely saying when he got rid of Reid that if they’d let him sell him when he wanted to he’d have got ten times more.

Yes it was.
I was and remain a big fan of Mal.

80 81 came from a poor start to final of the 100th FA cup final we've been to the promised land since
but it was great at the time what a journey ffrom our great and very special MCFC OK
