I thought it was a typical Oliver performance. Didn’t give us what looked a certain penalty, gave us soft cards and almost swallowed his whistle in his haste to give their penalty. Really nothing free kicks every time they fell over.

He started off shit and giving everything to the red scousers once he give the pen he changed tact and reffed both teams the same,bar the added on time which why we didn’t have any( although that’s technically not on him )which only further adds to how corrupt it is ..

It’s quite common in cup games that are well and truly over and has been done for years.

Not sure why it’s become a talking point.

We've had it before this season but can't remember which game, it was obviously a sympathy finish in that one as well

Happens quite a lot when reffing Sunday league. Usually in games that are dead.
Have seen it happen in CL and europa league etc. Shouldn't really happen though as isn't in the laws of the game.

Seems strange that the ref can ignore the rules and make a common sense decision in this but not in the Cherki goal/slobzi or whatever sending off?

yeh, its about the only common sense decision a ref makes

I've certainly been to City cup games where there hasn't been any time added on. I think Rotherham in 2019 (7-0) for one and at least one other (don't remember who).

Would you ask both captains if they were alright with no added time first?

Tends to happen when 1 captain asks you if you can blow early. You then find they have a word with the other captain and both get onto you, then you blow up. Everyone happy.
However I once did a County Cup game between Barnard Castle and Consett Methodist Church. BC were leading 17-0 so I blew up on 75 minutes. Monday morning the FA rang me and asked why we had played shortened time. A FA representative had watched the game and reported me. We all showed up to replay the game a week later.
Both sides can agree to play a shortened game as long as they agree prior to KO. The game, at senior football, needs to be a minimum of 70 minutes ie 2 halfs of 35

It's happened loads of time to City, only in knock out games though and normally we have been 7 up etc

The captains wouldn’t agree to no added time and the extra time would be played.

The game was done, and goal differance meant nothing. Injury time was in nobodys best interest. Not the first time ever the whistle has blown on 90.

Best interest is not in the rules though.
