Referees' Performances | 2025/26

Reminded me of Twatenburg in the Sick Swan at the swamp set off with his game plan and due to how good we were lost his control on proceedings so took the opportunity to portray himself as a impartial well balanced ref with no agenda

The man’s a c&£t

What added time should there have been? With players been in international duty and the game, at that point done, and with no obvious time needed to be added on, what would be the point in adding it for the sake of it?

If anything it’s done us a favour. An 7 day period now until we play the Sunday after. Rest.
What if I had bet £50 on 5 nil ?

There was at least 8 subs in the second half. You supposedly add on 30 seconds for each sub.

You cannot alter rules just because a team has no chance of winning.

No. But.
Rules are rules. You are not meant to change them or bend them just because you can.
If you do it leads to allegations of corruption.
Not seen any interviews post match. Has anyone official from the two clubs said anything?

I'm sure the extra four minutes of recovery time will help us to maintain our challenge for the title.

Was there any board put up with the time?

I dont know, I haven't been back from the pub that long but everyone in the ground was baffled that no extra minutes were added.
It makes a mockery of the rules and as I say, things like this leads to allegations of corruption.

In a league game it would make a bigger difference because of possible goal difference etc. in this the winner and loser were done already. Blowing early meant no risk of injuries/bookings etc, so it did both teams a favour if anything.

Not in the rules though, correct.

Are we seriously moaning about no added time at 4-0 up? Does it matter?

The subs had been on for 20 minutes, had done fuck all and the game was a disjointed mess. Quite happy for him to blow up before then place became even emptier from the early leavers.

The same was done when we were 6-2 up away at Luton - the explanation was that if both benches agree the match is over because it is a cup match and no other clubs (in particular goal difference) are affected, the referee can do so. He has no responsiblity for any bets.

It’s quite common in cup games that are well and truly over and has been done for years.

Not sure why it’s become a talking point.

I have never seen that in the rules. Before you know it they will be putting only three minutes up on the board instead of at least ten when City are 2-1 down at Newcastle.

Now that I can accept and thank you for the explanation.
As for @wolfie1988 I'm not moaning I just couldn't understand it. I was commenting on the rules being ignored but cyan has addressed this.
