Elliot Anderson | Opening bid rejected (p189)

Not the best place to judge players when playing for national side. One thing is you will never see him hide , he wants the ball and if he is able to wants to make an impact on the game.
The difference between him and Rice is stark in that respect - when England go under the cosh he runs away from the ball

Assuming Rodri stays and can keep fit, we need 2 other midfield starters.

I’d love Alex Scott as the Bernardo replacement and potentially Anderson to take the old KDB role.

That then leaves Cherki and Foden as either back up middle options or fighting for the RW position with Semenyo.

Anderson has had a great season, not sure why people are acting like he's average
Has he though? 4 goals and 4 assists in a team which finished just above relegation. Phil Foden in his worst ever season has scored 10 goals and made 7 assists. Morgan Gibbs White 17 goals and 7 assists.

Anderson was a bystander in the crunch match semi-final with Villa. Did not even lay a glove on Victor Lindelof. Yes, the permacropped cart horse that played second fiddle to Slabhead.

I want to see Anderson in the World Cup, playing at a higher level and showing us that he is 125m special.

We don’t judge CMs on goals and assists, quite literally not their job. Addressing the bit in bold, he was playing as the 6 when he’s an 8. His midfield partner was shocking too

You are a joke if you think the world cup is an higher level it's harder not to qualify now. I seem to remember he stepped up against you but don't let one game against Villa sway your opinion. His mother's funeral was 24 hours later but he made no excuse for his performance. I don't think he is worth 125m but he is levels above rice and Grealish in ability and they both went fair 100 m and above. I think you're in the minority of your fans most of whom have seen top players and they seem to really want him to come to your club.

Getting 4 goals in a Dyche team is an achievement. They play different as well.

His KPIs stand put like a beacon. This is a not rushed decision, there is a reason he is key cog for England and the top clubs are watching him.

Alex Scott is a bit on the small side for a midfielder. They’re is a plus though and not listening too hear her nails on a blackboard voice on football commentary is a plus.

El Hadj Diouf beats them all.Dahlin I have spoken to about his days at Rovers there is more to that story. Martin scored 50 goals in 106 games for Mönchengladbach

I rechecked, as I thought the same, but both him & Diao were apparently bought before the World Cup

Exactly this

Obviously all goals and assists are helpful, but if you look at why we haven't won the league then it's because of a lack of mobility in midfield which hurts us defensively and slows down our play offensively. He might not get a goal or assist in the game, but if Anderson had been in our midfield at the Hill Dickinson Stadium then Everton don't stage a second half fightback and we don't have the team running towards their own goal in full retreat. Leave the G/A side of it to Haaland, Doku, Semenyo, Foden and Cherki. A combative, mobile midfielder with a good range of passing is badly needed. And watch the draws that have cost us a league title this season turn into wins next season.

We get Anderson, another midfielder, another (balanced) forward and a RB I have no doubt that we win the league next season
