James Milner

Never really understood all the hate he got after he left. He did what he what he was asked to do here, worked hard at it and played his part in our success during those years. But, at the end of the day, he is a professional footballer paid to kick a ball about, he wasn't paid to be a City fan for life.

Whatever you think of him, he worked hard at all the clubs he was at, and to have lasted as long as he did at the top level (well, the Premier League anyway) is unusual and deserves recognition.

Wish him all the best cutting his grass with a pair of scissors!

He's shown us a bit more respect recently and I can move on. He wanted to play a bigger role, in the middle of the park and the dippers gave him that. Don't have an issue with him leaving on a free, we could have tied him down sooner and that's just the way it goes. Didn't impact us him moving there anyway. I think our treatment of him probably led to him being a **** to us whilst there, but he seem

Did a good job for us complementing the really talented players.
In fact has done a decent job for all his clubs

Great career and incredible longevity. 3 league titles, a champions league, plenty of domestics pots too.

Played for real prestigious clubs like City and Liverpool, as well as other good clubs like Villa and Newcastle. Plus his availability for nearly 25 years is impressive, aswell as his versatility on the pitch. He's what Rico Lewis should be if he was any good

He's got some pretty impressive honours when you weigh it all up. Fair play.

Boring bastard.

It’s a huge club and Man City, maybe over the course of history, isn’t as quite as big as Liverpool.
That’s what he said when he left, no need to say that whether he believes it or not.
He was also a prick when he played against us.

He moaned and bitched about being played out of position at City then played a season at Left Back for Liverpool with non of the criticism he gave us.

If I remember right he celebrated infront of our fans after scoring against us. But he refused to celebrate scoring against Villa as he played for them.

In all he showed the club and fans very little respect after he left.
As far as I’m concerned he can go fuck himself the boring, ungrateful ****.

Insane work ethic and dedication to the game. If it wasn't for his discipline, focus and consistency he could have easily become a journeyman in the lower leagues. Jack of all trades, Master at none, bit of the old Ronseal. Fair play to him.

For any youngsters who get put off by more talented players around them, Milner would give them some sort of hope.

I might be mistaken but I cannot remember him nailing down a consistent starting sport in central midfield for the dippers. He seemed to fill the same "very good utility player" role there that he did at City.
