PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Surely Khaldoon will have known right from the start if we are guilty of the most serious charges.

Also, the legal process will prevent him from commenting too soon, but even if the final verdict hasn't been published, I refuse to believe that he won't have been given some kind of steer from the legal team

I think Khaldoon’s comments are just reiterating his long-standing confidence that we will win, rather than knowing that we have won.

I'm with the descriptive-watchers. This guy doesn't throw adjectives around in a prepared speech willy-nilly, imho.

Judgment released after this month's Shareholder Meeting is my guess.

If we’re genuinely innocent, he’ll have always known we’ve won
Indeed! Although miscarriages of justice can happen, I guess.

His confidence is hugely encouraging though. Reminds me of something I was told before the CAS verdict came out, where a club official was stressing about the outcome. Khaldoon, by all accounts, was completely relaxed and just said “don’t worry, we will win” with a smile. Getting similar vibes now from his interview. You can “know”, without officially knowing.

Yeeeeeeey

I'm not reading anything into what Khaldoon says about this 115 case until we get a result. Not because I dont trust him (I do), but because even if he knew we were at major risk of getting a negative verdict he would obviously still say the things he says and act confident. Doing anything else would be to indirectly admit guilt.

Anyone who comes to conclusions based on the way he says things or specific details he said is just looking for things that confirm our preconceived hope/opinion, that we will get a positive verdict.

Even if Khaldoon knows he and the club has done nothing wrong, being innocent does not automatically mean a not guilty verdict, especially not in complex cases like this. Now it's not a question if we have done anything wrong or not, the question is if the Arsenal fan and others in this "independent panel" believe we have done anything wrong or not.

Lets just say I'm not as convinced as many others on this forum that these 3 "independent" panel members are infallible and making their judgement completely free from bias or without feeling the pressure to produce a guilty verdict to please the public opinion of more or less every single non City football fan in the world who have already decided we are guilty.

With respect, the panel members aren't making their decisions after all this time, based on a hunch, or who they support. Whether they believe we have done it or not will depend on the evidence provided on both sides of the argument, and will need to meet the required standard of proof.

Nah not having that Ric. No need to be cautious or legal on this now. It’s done and probably has been for sometime now.

Preview before the show…It’s live -:)

Pretty much sums up the situation for awhile now:

I don't think he gave anything away and never does.
His take has been the same for years.
I just hope it is all over soon. Its bloody dull and feeds our rivals who make the most poisonous stew from whatever remnants they find.

He’d have to be pathetically naive to make an end of season video that he knows will be watched by millions and picked apart by Sky etc and basically say “I can’t fucking wait for the verdict I’m going to laugh my bollocks off” if he thought there was even a scintilla of a chance we’ve been found guilty.

Does he strike you as that?

If he was shitting himself he’d have just told the interviewer to not question him on it.

Look at everything else he says in his interview. He sounds like a man whose only concern is cracking on and smashing fuck out of it.

I'm just saying that in many complex cases 2 well educated and experienced people can look at the same "evidence" and come to different conclusions regarding guilt. If this 3 man panel was a 100 man panel it would be extremely unlikely they would all come to the same conclusion regarding our guilt.

If you want to find evidence of guilt you are more likely to interpret evidence in a way that aligns with your predetermined opinion than if you are looking at the evidence completely free from bias and pressure of public opinion.

If we would be found guilty, the least of his problems would be "but you said we were innocent in an interview, because of that you now look like a fool".

I believe and hope we will get a positive verdict. I'm just not reading anything into what a person says when he would obviously say the same thing at this moment in time regardless of what he believes will be the outcome.

Reminds me of times when city have won the league. You don’t want to take the piss until it’s mathematically done. Same here. Only this is the internet and we are allowed to gloat. The bile thrown our way has been severe.

Must be near…

“Agueroooo... Khaldoooon! I swear you'll never see anything like this ever again! So watch it, drink it in. They've just heard the news at premier league headquarters. Zero charges in added time for Manchester City to snatch the tribunal away from the Red cartel."

I think he is simply certain of us being innocent of all of these trumped up charges. Knowing that for certain he can exude such confidence.
Love the sense of underlying menace when he says he is looking forward to sitting down for a chat .Glad it's not me.
