TBH I think you're all missing the point about this passing thing, especially with regards to the Palace game.
Barca for instance will pop the ball around the middle of the park all day long, whereas what we were doing was passing it around inside their box for long periods of the game.
One...
Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Threa
I strongly suspect that is the intention. I also think that is a large part of the grief we are getting from the establishment, they are not only worried about us winning everything, but more concerned about the demise of the cash...
Re: City & FFP (continued)
I was playing devil's advocate a little too regarding investment, but it's essentially the case that although investment is permitted, it's not a realistic amount to be able to compete with the top tier of clubs, and there is no way to be able to compete without...
Re: City & FFP (continued)
Financial restrictions on buisness of any sort do not say you cannot invest in your business. Unless it's a business governed by UEFA
Re: City & FFP (continued)
I can see what you're getting at, but it's not a set of rules and regulations that are being challenged, it's the basic premise that a club cannot spend more than it earns that is under challenge as that is what on the face of it is in breach of EU law.
I would...
I think it is just extreme protection. Saw him walk in the Colin Bell entrance before the match, and although he had all the gear on, he looked pretty mobile and comfortable.
So have I, and funnily enough that was the only game I've ever left early, as I had to get a train, so I missed it too.
As for the best though, I've got to go for the Colin Bell against Chelsea, still the best goal I've ever seen in the flesh.
Re: City & FFP (continued)
You're absolutely right in what you say, but I think the change will come a lot more quickly than you may think, namely when the clubs this nonsense was set up to protect start to fall foul of it.
It's already had the effect on one of it's main instigators, the rags...
Re: City & FFP (continued)
It doesn't matter where he goes. The point is that he's spreading his credibility very thin, and may very easily end up with a massive amount of egg on his face.
Re: City & FFP (continued)
You're absolutely spot on there. I actually think that the object of most of our venom, Platini, is way out of his depth, and is now stuck between a rock and a hard place, as he needs to appease the G14 clubs, but can't do it without appearing to single out City. I...
Re: City & FFP (continued)
I'm not sure how Villa voted on FFP, but I know they voted against the Premier League version, saying something along the lines of "it's wrong to take away clubs dreams and aspirations"
So on that basis, I sympathise with them.
