If you book via Booking.com, you can pre-book and pay for your taxi on there which reduces the risk I suppose. I'll be getting the shuttle as will be the easiest and cheapest way.

No problem, you'll pay a little more but worth it for the right area IMO

There is a shuttle that takes you directly to Taksim Sq. There is the same kind of shuttle for IST airport also If you can get a few of you, sharing a taxi will be much easier and probably costs about £25-30

Just an FYI - Fatih area is not the best. You'd be best a little further south or over the bridge in Beyoglu (Taksim Sq)

Me, flying solo. Currently booked close to historical sites but might move hotel to Taksim Sq as seem most will be staying round here. Flying from LHR on Thursday evening and back Monday morning

What about anyone who has flights and accom booked but never officially buys a ticket? Been nearly every home and lots away this year but always via transfers or re-sellers.. Will be trying to get my hands on a season ticket + cup scheme next year now I'm in position to get to every game...
