    Liverpool Thread 2014/15

Maybe, but could be a problem if two different camps develop. The foreign boys and the British ones. At the moment the British boys have the power, but the dynamics could change completely if Gerrard leaves. I don't think they will get top 4 and will effect the contracts they can offer and the...

    De Bruyne?

If De Bruyne has learnt anything he should stay at Wolfsburg at least for another 2 years. I hear the Belgium manager has told him the same thing. No reason to rush things. He will be playing CL football next season and possibly for challenging for the league. No need to rush things.

    Sturridge > aguero

Don't think this is accurate. RVP and Suarez have both been better than Aguero for the majority of time Aguero has been here. Aguero's level this year however is the highest since at least Drogba out of any player let alone striker. If he could stay fit could say it's the highest level since...

    Liverpool Thread 2014/15

I have no clue why Henderson was designated penalty taker. Balotelli and Lambert are the obvious choices. Not even sure Henderson is captain material. Emre Can and Sakho both seem like more natural leaders (though there is a language barrier at the moment). I am not sure if staying in the...

    Europa League Last 32

Balotelli was the obvious choice to take the penalty. Henderson lacks experience taking pressure kicks. Balotelli has a better penalty record than Sturridge and taken them under intense pressure.

Injured. And taking points off Chelsea.

LOL. Just as I was praising the team he was putting together.

    Europa League Last 32

Watching the Liverpool game and have not seen much of Inter since Mancini has taken over, but he is putting together quite a good team, which is to be expected with him. Will be interesting to see how they do.

    Sturridge > aguero

That's why stats are useful, but are not everything in football. It's much better to trust your eyes. In theory Sturridge having a better goals to game ratio whilst playing for a weaker team is an argument for him being the better player, but anyone has seen the two player knows there is no...

    Pardew is a coward

Pearson was lucky Pardew was on his best behaviour due to previous trouble. In a normal situation Pardew would definitely have sorted him out.

Most open Champions League for a decade?

After the game against Roma I thought you had a chance of a good run and there is no reason you cannot win it. Depends on how you approach things including the fans. If you play intelligently against Barca and show no fear then I would have you as favourites. We will see the attitude of the club...

    Europa League Last 32

Not yet he is not, but he is still only 21. He is the same age as Kane. His first touch is terrible and I have not liked his work ethic, but he has potential. I agree overpaid, but they will probably get most of the money back if he develops. Inexperience showed there for Stones. After the...

Bundesliga review part 2. the new one :)

Great news that Reus decided to stay. It's a great sign of loyalty, because he must have rejected virtually every top club in the world including Madrid, Bayern, Chelsea, City, United and PSG. Sends a clear message to the rest of the team. With Hummels and Reus they have a foundation for the...

Impresssive from Lukaku, but get the impression he is playing for a move.

Most open Champions League for a decade?

I think the first round of matches backs up what I initially said. There is no clear favourite and any of 8 or so teams could win the CL. Match ups are going to play a huge part. Tuesday could prove to the world I am a fool, but I still have a strange feeling about Dortmund.

Bundesliga review part 2. the new one :)

Neither of those clubs had sustained success or won the CL. By a top club I meant winning several league titles for a 10 year period and possibly a CL. City shirts are now sold all over London. My girlfriend should support Hamburg like the rest of her family, but supports Bayern, because they...

Ghana vs Ivory Coast (AFCON Final)

That's what I did. Turned back for the pen shoot out. You missed a great game: end to end, 6 goals, own goals and a red card. A brilliant match.

Ghana vs Ivory Coast (AFCON Final)

That's not being a wimp it's just being smart and doing what's best for the team. Gervinho is terrible at striking a ball and always liable to miss. Completely different situation from when Scholes and Kroos refuse to take them.

Most open Champions League for a decade?

That's the the thing. Bayern's record against the top teams this year has not been particularly good. Madrid are missing Modric really badly. Why would Madrid be favourites against Atletico? Most years the favourites were usually noticeably stronger than the rest. I just don't think that's the...
