When I was a kid most Scots kids had an English team they liked. I was Liverpool but got bored being called a glory hunter so switched to City. That would have been about 1977-78. I didn't realise at the time just how far from glory hunting that would go for a while.

As a Hearts fan who also follows City I was at the game yesterday (first time in a few years). I thought the atmosphere was good for an early kick off against one of the less glamorous teams, particularly given the performance/ result.

Yes but you have to remember every development in football since then has favoured the bigger clubs and made it all but impossible to compete with them.

Don't really see the problem with booing. Similarly cheering when an opponent gets injured might not be classy but worse has happened at football.
