    England v Spain

So you're admitting that you were wrong about England never having beaten anyone better than us? It's ironic that you accused someone of literally knowing nothing about football in the same post.

    England v Spain

You logged in to tell us that England are 'irrelevant'. Well if they're irrelevant to you just ignore the thread.

    England v Spain

Yet you logged on to this thread just to tell us how little you care. 'I must let the internet know my opinion.' Don't bother.

    England v Spain

Didn't we beat Germany 3-2 in Berlin? Kane, Vardy and Dier scored. Two of them are still in the squad and the other one has only recently retired.

Local sides in FA Cup 4th Round Qualifying draw

Maltby Main v Frickley Athletic is live on the BBC website: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/45203165 Unfortunately the BBC don't appear to have brought a cover for the camera and it's pissing down. Every so often a giant hand appears to wipe the raindrops of the lens. The rest of...

Nations League Good or Bad ?

They will if they get relegated and have to face second rate teams in the next Nations League. Ultimately that'll have an effect on their performances if they're not playing the best opposition.

Nations League Good or Bad ?

How is it creating more games? England would be playing someone during the international break regardless of the Nations League.

Nations League Good or Bad ?

All competitions start with general apathy. We didn't even bother taking part in the first World Cup competitions. The European Championships were a bit of a joke when they first started, here were only EIGHT teams in the finals until Euro '96!

Nations League Good or Bad ?

It's designed to make friendlies more competitive not to replace the qualifiers. The only teams that will qualify for Euro 2020 via the Nations League, are the best placed teams who haven't already qualified and they will go into a play-off against each other.

Nations League Good or Bad ?

It's better than friendlies, at least there's a trophy at the end of it. The only other solution is to scrap friendlies altogether and just play qualifying games for Euros or World Cup in international breaks. However that would mean the lower ranked nations would never get anywhere near a...

Nations League Good or Bad ?

Four pools A, B, C and D. Four groups within each pool. Winners of B, C and D groups promoted. Bottom teams in A, B and C groups relegated. Four group winners in pool A contest the semi-finals, third place play-off and final. If any team finishing top or best placed second hasn't already...

    Must see documentaries..

More a drama documentary than a pure documentary but 'Mother's Day' about the IRA bombing of Warrington, is well worth watching: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0bj7ldv/mothers-day I'm surprised that this didn't make it onto the soundtrack though:

Words that have gone out of fashion

'Apeth'. As in 'yer daft apeth'. Although still in use in Bolton.

'Hurricane' - The Poles recognised at last

Apparently if you were walking along the coastal cliffs on a summer's day in 1940, you might get a ringside view of the dogfights over the English Channel. It must have been surreal watching life and death struggle going on a few miles away with the future of the whole country at stake. This...

Team Beckham / Inter Miami - bottom of MLS (page 10)

I think he was overrated but he played Greece on his own that day.

Unsurprising when you consider how Alan Turing was treated.
