Nations League Good or Bad ?

It's just another cup. The English game has 3 already for the 'top' clubs. More if you are in the lower leagues. How many do you want? EC, WC with all their group staged, now this crap cup making more games players have to take part in.

I think he's referring to the overlong qualification groups and sheer number of pointless friendlies. Everyone loves the WC and the Euros. See my post on page 1.

Sure, but given the feel good factor, I'd hardly say that international football is losing its appeal to the average fan right now. Just the opposite.

This world cup was outstanding I have to admit but I’m talking generally mate, I don’t know many Blues who care for it at all for the reasons I have described ..

Perhaps so. But the TV audiences for the World Cup matches rather show a different metric. We're a self-selecting group.

Way too complicated.
On the upside: At least England's games will be worth watching though.
On the downside: The games will be harder with our players much more likely to get injured as a result.

I honestly don’t understand what it gives. From my understanding of it teams who do well qualify automatically for the 2020 euros. Considering euro qualifiers only start once the nations league groups finish, then that surely makes qualifying utterly pointless? Maybe I’m understanding it wrong but it devalues the qualifiers even more.

It's designed to make friendlies more competitive not to replace the qualifiers.

The only teams that will qualify for Euro 2020 via the Nations League, are the best placed teams who haven't already qualified and they will go into a play-off against each other.

All competitions start with general apathy.

We didn't even bother taking part in the first World Cup competitions.

The European Championships were a bit of a joke when they first started, here were only EIGHT teams in the finals until Euro '96!
