    Wales v England

They've never qualified for the World Cup and they went into this game top of the group. A win would have seen them through.

    Wales v England

It's refreshing to see the lack of whinging and play acting and there's some tasty tackling as well.

    Wales v England

Fair play to the sheep botherers. They've never stopped singing all game.
  4. S

    Wales v England

    1-0 England. Decent finish.

    Wales v England

I don't think Phil Neville got the new F.A. blueprint on passing football.

    Wales v England

I wouldn't say Wales are dominating, it's been end to end. England had a goal wrongly disallowed as well. Could go either way. Great atmosphere!

    Wales v England

Women's World Cup qualifier on BBC2 now. Wales need to win to qualify at England's expense. England need at least a draw to stay in contention. Record crowd at Newport for a women's international.

    Fantastic Brian Clough interview

Our manager Jimmy Armfield replaced Brian Clough at Leeds. Clough went to Second Division Forest, a far smaller club than Bolton at the time. If only...

City fan dropping the F-bomb on 606 just now. Got quite a reaction too. Don't think it will be in the podcast though!

    Fantastic Brian Clough interview

I think they finished third three times with Clough in sole charge. These days that would mean automatic Champions League qualification, which for a club of Forest's size would have been pretty remarkable.

    Fantastic Brian Clough interview

They were going nowhere when he arrived. They pipped us for promotion on goal difference in his second full season in charge. Next season they won the First Division title and the League Cup, followed by back to back European Cups and another League Cup!

    The Championship Thread

Why should Wigan be top? They haven't been good enough to win all four. That's not unlucky.

Sam Allardyce: Epitome of why English football has lagged behind

Yes it included Kevin Nolan and Ricardo Vaz Te, two of the players who were dismissed as not having improved under Allardyce, earlier in this thread... by you! "None of them were better players for having worked under him, none learned anything new."

Sam Allardyce: Epitome of why English football has lagged behind

Yet only seven other teams did better than the one he managed last season... You'd have thought their managers would have managed to suss out his tactics if you have.

Sam Allardyce: Epitome of why English football has lagged behind

Tal Ben Haim, Eidur Gudjohnson, Nicolas Anelka. All signed by Chelsea. I'm flattered you think that Chelsea doesn't represent a higher level than Bolton.

Sam Allardyce: Epitome of why English football has lagged behind

You're aware that Bolton finished in a UEFA Cup place in his final season right? They were in contention for a Champions League place with about four games to play. To do that whilst lowering the level of the players must take some doing.

Sam Allardyce: Epitome of why English football has lagged behind

So he got more out of them than anyone else was able to?

Sam Allardyce: Epitome of why English football has lagged behind

Bolton didn't go down with Alardyce in charge. Most of the debt was incurred after he left.
