Within the time frame that has been under discussion here as a result of Poch's comments yesterday.

That's a shame. I thought we were having a sensible chat, and you've gone WUM. All good. We'll see.

Who knows! We can only go by the facts. Chelsea fans like myself are very proud that when we've contested that trophy we've won it both times, regardless of who's managing us at the time.

As a target I agree. However, you asked for realistic.

Not at all. To be fair I don't think it's really worth arguing about, and the lad here who mentioned the dad energy is absolutely on point. I think it's subjective regarding what's 'major'. The domestic cups do not have the gravitas they once did. Money rules these days, to the point where big...

Realistically I think we just need to see a degree of stability at first. Some semblance of a cohesive unit. A lot has been made here about Poch's comments about the last 15yrs, but for me the most important thing he referenced yesterday was only wanting players who want to play for our club...

The Cup Winners Cup is a great thing to have won! To be honest, when I look back to our success in the same comp in 1998, I remember sheer joy. Its easy to be a little arrogant when we see, for example, West Ham win the European Conference, but the joy of European success when you're a club...

You've been in it twice in the last twelve years. Got knocked out at the round of sixteen stage both times.

I think I'd have to take issue with the term 'major', as if the League and FA Cups are major trophies, what constitutes a minor trophy that any Premier league team might compete for? European success is undoubtedly a big part of what Poch was referring to, and as City fans know, it's very hard...

Haha. That's a clever answer :) Not accurate in my case, but impossible to argue against!

So if it isn't Chelsea who've been the best team in the last 15yrs or so, who has?

I think that the whole reason we opted for Poch is that he's not just hot air. He's up for the fight, has proved that on many occasions, and he expects his team to be the same.

Exactly that. He's looking to galvanise the troops and remind the club where we aspire to be from the get-go.

    Chelsea Thread - 2023/24

I think he's using the metric of Chelsea having won on multiple occasions every available trophy in England and Europe in that time, aside from the Super Cup and Club World Cup which we've only won once. I think every football fan acknowledges that in the here and now City are clearly the...

Imo Kova is superb as a ball winning (and ball retaining) midfielder who can carry the ball with strength - difficult to knock off the ball. I'm not surprised Pep took him. Of all the players we've let go Kova is the one I'm saddest about.

We've been linked to quite a few. I must say I don't know what our intentions really are. I like Onana, but as with any of our top targets, they have other options who have Champions League football.

Haha. Yes, that was not a great moment. To his credit he's never lost confidence, and has been super patient when not preferred. He's a good pen stopper. Pochettino's goalkeeping team apparently think they can unlock an improved keeper in him - maybe working on some of the things I've already...

There are quite a few keepers better than Kepa! Kepa is a good shot stopper, but can't command his box at corners, doesn't like catching the ball, and is not great with the ball at his feet. Way too many negatives for me.

Yes he has. I did read recently that we might be going back in for him, and personally I'd like to bring him back, but nothing of any real substance to suggest we are interested.
