My bad. I was confusing him with Dharmesh. He has been as disrespectful to Spurs as Kaveh has been to City. Swings and roundabouts. I guess we shouldn't rise to it. It's all about ratings.

He's been no better, and possibly worse, in his attitude towards Spurs. He has routinely painted Spurs as the bad guys for not letting Kane go.

I bet he does! But the fault is not his alone. Problem was that Poch wasn't very keen on Grealish. So although others at the club liked and recommended him, it's understandable that Levy didn't meet Villa's £30m demand for, what was then, a largely unproven player. Definitely one that got away.

"Wild stuff without sources"? I already told you the source: Spurs' official announcements. Since you appear to be unwilling to google for yourself: https://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/2019/september/club-refinances-construction-debt/...

You have misread. £25 million is the annual interest on the long term debt. Repayments can be made at any time but if the debt was to be paid in equal annual instalments, it would amount to c. £40m per annum. If the full amount isn’t paid at maturity, then whatever debt remains will be...

    Spurs Thread - 2021/22

I didn't dismiss the bulk of Spurs' debt as "standard debt that all clubs have". That's merely your misreading of my post. I had already specifically discussed the stadium and COVID loans. Do I really need to provide links to my figures, as if my post was some sort of PhD paper? The figures are...

Spurs tried to sell Danny Rose but he refused to leave. He admitted as much. As to Alderweireld, he never asked to leave as far as I'm aware. You're right that Bellingham would have joined Dortmund over Spurs or almost any other PL club, for that matter. He wouldn't have been thinking about his...

Easy, fella. I didn't mean anything by it. I simply don't know how old Mazzarelli is or when he / she became a City fan. I didn't want to assume that he / she had experienced what it was like to be a City fan before 2008.

The argument was that Dortmund is a great club for young players because they let them leave. They didn't let Sancho leave last year. They made him wait.

For my part, I think it would be better all round for Kane to leave leave this summer. But on two conditions. Firstly, that City pay something approaching Levy's asking price (whatever that might be - but at least £130m + £30m easily achievable add-ons, IMO). Secondly, that Spurs sign a top...

I keep seeing this line of reasoning but it simply doesn't add up. Levy has been making player sales a nightmare for buying clubs for the past 15 years. Yet Spurs still routinely buy players with the potential to be future stars. What players look for in a new club is, in no particular order...

I don't believe that I've been giving it the big one on here at all. Just enjoying the conversation and politely putting the Spurs point of view. You're right that there's no ideal outcome for Spurs from this Kane mess. There is only a least bad outcome.

I'm not defending Levy indiscriminately. I just don't believe that he is naive enough to have specified a (low) figure at which he would sell. Not even verbally. Negotiation 101, you just don't do that. It would be just as easy to argue that City are taking the piss out of City fans by making...

    Harry Kane

If you were a City fan before 2008, you will understand that football clubs don't need to have any point beyond serving their local community and wider fan base. The market is already inflated. Levy has every justification to believe that £100m is a silly bid.

    Harry Kane

Genuinely, I have no idea. We have already sold Foyth and Alderweireld for a combined £15-20m. Lamela was part of the Gil deal. Sevilla and other clubs want Davinson Sanchez. Sissoko could apparently be heading for the Middle East. And a few clubs are interested in Winks. Gazzaniga and Hart...

With respect, this is about as well informed as posts by opposition fans claiming that City are still funded by Abu Dhabi’s billions every year. Debt is not inherently a bad thing. Spurs’ debt has bought them one of the best and most lucrative stadiums in the world. It is an asset that...

And yet Spurs have just signed Bryan Gil - a player who is every bit as highly rated as Sancho was when he joined Dortmund - and are about to sign Cristian Romero. Dortmund sign more great youngsters than most because they have an excellent scouting system and because they are committed to...
