They didn't. If they did, he might not have played. They postured, and proclained the maximum they would pay for him but did not bid anywhere near 90m.

Turning out to be a bit of a farce really, Levy's blinded by trying to appease his fans rather than doing what's better financially for them. We won't meet the price tag and I personally have no problem with that. Sack off the whole Kane chase, bring in a stopgap striker if necessary, a top striker may emerge this season elsewhere.
