Debt is not inherently a bad thing. Spurs’ debt has bought them one of the best and most lucrative stadiums in the world. It is an asset that increases revenues by more than £100m per annum. And the interest payable on it is all long term and low interest, costing just £16m per annum.

So Spurs absolutely do not need to sell and the banks have no interest, nor any say, in Spurs selling its best players.

Genuinely, I have no idea.

We have already sold Foyth and Alderweireld for a combined £15-20m. Lamela was part of the Gil deal. Sevilla and other clubs want Davinson Sanchez. Sissoko could apparently be heading for the Middle East. And a few clubs are interested in Winks. Gazzaniga and Hart have left. Aurier is also likely to leave. Bale, Rose and Vinicius are off the wage bill.

Certainly, itk is expecting a lot of ins and outs over the coming few weeks. There is also some suggestion that a boost to funding (other than Kane’s potential sale!) might soon be announced - perhaps a naming rights deal.
