    #27 | João Cancelo - 2021/22 Performances

I especially loved how he didn't overcommit himself. Probably just an instruction or a hunch but anyway, he kept it safe most of the time unless a real outlet was there to play for. He lost the ball once in a shit situation but apart from that he just bossed it.

    #27 | João Cancelo - 2021/22 Performances

Yeah, only he can be a bit frustrating and weird to watch in a game he has three assists. I guess one of those days still when the good way overweighs the bad.

    West Ham (A) - EFL Cup R4 - Wed 27 Oct 19:45 | Pre-Match Thread

We should absolutely sneak in somehow Palmer given our injures upfront (Torres definitely out, maybe Sterling?), but also Mahrez seems like a definite starter given he didn't against Brighton, so it will be interesting how the front three sets up. Then again Pep being Pep and it being the League...

    #7 | Raheem Sterling - 2021/22 Performances

You have to feel for him at this point. Poor lad had a brilliant came although in ideal circumstances for him. But his average finishing ability combined with his lack of confidence and this is what you get.

    #14 | Aymeric Laporte - 2021/22 Performances

That pass to Foden was pure filth.

    31 | Ederson - 2021/22 Performances

Luckily it's Burnley who won't press us high anyway, so it's not like Ederson would have too many chances to score an assist due to a high line. :) Steffen will do, provided he is back in time this time.

    #14 | Aymeric Laporte - 2021/22 Performances

Yeah, some of his one-time passing straight as he wins possession in a crowded area is a wonderful sight.

    #13 | Zack Steffen - 2021/22 Performances

Deserves a shout after yesterday's game. Made a crucial save at 3-1 when it seemed we cannot convert our huge chances, and generally was so composed with his passing that must have helped our young back line to make the transition to the senior team so smooth.

    #25 | Fernandinho - 2021/22 Performances

He's just not good enough anymore against teams that actually press well and high. Would probably still be good enough against Burnley and the likes, at least let's hope so. Didn't understand why it wasn't Gundogan who played the pivot from start. Maybe it was never the intention to give KdB or...

    10 | Jack Grealish - 2021/22 Performances

Quieter today than previously but still at least two great chances created (for Sterling and that cut back pass to KdB) which is more than what others did today. Could easily have been the difference maker were it for a better finish.

    10 | Jack Grealish - 2021/22 Performances

Had a brilliant game both against Hungary and Poland.

    Harry Kane

I'm glad it's over. Was confident it's not gonna happen but anyway shitting it.

    9 | Gabriel Jesus - 2021/22 Performances

Won the ball also back in a manner in our own half which you won't see from Sterling or Mahrez. But of course someone has to write bollocks about him in this thread after a game.

Yan Couto | On loan at Girona

And Pozo came on as the striker option because of an injury, but then himself was substitued later in the game.

    #5 | John Stones - 2020/21 Performances

That's not too meaningful in a game where we played without a man for the majority. We were pressed high and thus needed long balls out from our CBs for a lot of time. And it's not like we had some great outlets up front for it. Also, we know he has room for improvement when it comes to long...

    #2 | Kyle Walker - 2020/21 Performances

The short backheel was a bit of a brainfuck and he has to thank Zinchenko for that eventual block, but it would definitely feel harsh to criticise him because of that. Keeping Neymar (and Mbappe in the first game) and co. quiet throughout two games is by no means a given.

    #9 | Gabriel Jesus - 2020/21 Performances

Should have won two red cards yesterday the sexy bastard.

    #27 | João Cancelo - 2020/21 Performances

Zinchenko offered something else once Foden moved to the inside, but I still think Cancelo had a good game. Made some crucial tackles and never shied away from the tackle even after his yellow. Made some solid ones too.

    Pep Guardiola - 2020/21 Performances

We have more control but create less chances, kind of logical when you think of his style of play. But in no way can we leave out Kevin when he's fully fit.

    #5 | John Stones - 2020/21 Performances

I don't like when we cross as much as we did against Leeds because we obviously only do it that often when we are shit and struggling, but also I kind of feel too it was a missed opportunity from Stones. He did have two shot attempts from distance but let's face it, he was never going to score...
