    Basel (H) Post Match Thread

I agree with the Bernardo comments, I forgot about him in all fairness. I disagree with Laporte though, I thought his reading of the game and calmness in possession while those around him (Stones, Yaya & Bravo) struggled was really positive. I certainly don’t think he was half hearted, just...

    Yaya Toure - 2017/18 performances

Same standard of performance and can’t be arsed attitude that’s cost us the last 3/4 seasons really, if you take away a few months when he came back into the team last season when he actually looked like he wanted to play.

    Basel (H) Post Match Thread

Disappointed to see Yaya on the teamsheet as we all know before a ball is even kicked that we’ll be slow in possession and the usual high pressing will be nonexistent. That said we needed to give De Bruyne and Silva a rest after Arsenal (x2) and Chelsea so I suppose Yaya had to play...

    Benjamin Mendy (Back In Training)

From the very little I’ve seen of Mendy he seems a high risk, high reward left back which isn’t what we’re used to from defenders. Delph is very much a safe option, personally I think he’s better than Mendy defensively and is safer in possession but isn’t going to give you anywhere near as many...

    Referees/Officials 2017/18 performances

I don’t know, the original lunge from Zinchenko is excessive and endangering the safety of an opponent without a doubt in my mind but he does try and pull away at the last second so as not to injure their player so I suppose it could be yellow or red but personally I still think I’d go red even...

I think so, it’s easy to lose count.

    Work/Life Balance

There’s millions of places to see and experience, if I had financial freedom to be able to travel the world with my family & friends I couldn’t think of a better way of life. Don’t get me wrong Manchester has been and always will be home, even if I won £100m on the lottery. The only work I’d...

    Referees/Officials 2017/18 performances

Completely agree pal, the refereeing against us this season has been a fucking disgrace. We all know we’re playing to different rules than certain other teams (two in particular) who wouldn’t even be 18 points clear if it had been officiated equally for all teams.

    Referees/Officials 2017/18 performances

Haha, harsh but true sorry. I agree if referees followed the rules it would see most teams down to 10 men very quickly but it would also soon stop the ridiculous attacks we’ve had against us this season. Personally I don’t think Delph or Zinchenko’s tackles were malicious but they were both...

    Referees/Officials 2017/18 performances

No that’s bollocks, Zinchenko’s was a red card offence and so were the 10-11 against us this season. Delph’s was also a red card. Don’t get me wrong I loved nothing more than Michael Brown and Kevin Horlock smashing fuck out of Sheff Utd players god knows how many years back but football has...

    Referees/Officials 2017/18 performances

I usually think you’re an attention seeking whore intent on being decisive on this thread but even I agree with you that it should have been a red. Zinchenko has lunged with studs up, I don’t think he meant to hurt Moses in any way but it was a dangerous and reckless tackle.

    Ilkay Gundogan - 2017/18 performances

Shits and giggles, really? Those short passes between two players are very intentional and provocative to try and frustrate the opposition players into individual pressing and breaking their tactical shape. We use a very similar ploy with Ederson, giving opposition teams hope they can catch us...

    Were you wrong about Pep?

If Pep had changed his tactics last season it would have shown the players he lacked belief, then this season wouldn’t have happened.

    Were you wrong about Pep?

It pissed me off hugely last season having to fight Guardiola’s cause when he continued to play his way despite the media and even City fans essentially saying he didn’t know what he was doing when to me it was blatantly obvious. I said on multiple occasions to much slagging off on here that we...

    Ilkay Gundogan - 2017/18 performances

Other than the 15 minute or so spell when the whole team looked lethargic I thought he was very good tonight. He’s not going to do the job the same way as Fernandinho does, he does it differently but just as effectively (at times). Their was one moment second half when Ozil broke down Arsenal’s...

    Arsenal (A) Post Match Thread

It’s an honour to watch this team, we’re very lucky fans. To the lads and lasses who were there tonight you did us as proud as the team, safe journey home.

Who is best option to play in Fernandinho's position?

I really don’t understand the negativity around Gundogan, I know he didn’t have his best game yesterday but the lad is a class act. I think he could easily fill Fernandinho’s void for a few games, as long as Walker and Danilo stay tucked inside to provide more defensive stability and legs. We’d...

    Referees/Officials 2017/18 performances

Aubameyang was offside for their first chance, although I presume in future we’re going to see play continue and then ruled out by VAR as the linesman and referee won’t want to stop a potential goal just in case they’re wrong. Other than nutting wheelchair I though Pawson was as good as we can...

League Cup Final - Post Match Thread

Brilliant day all round, I think above everything I’m just buzzin for Vinny, you can just see how much it means to him. The mental toughness he’s shown to recover time and time again from injuries must inspire the rest of the team, the man is just a god. Chuffed to fuck for Phil Foden as well...
