    Gas & Electricity

Yes it is, but the electric only operates the pump in the boiler. Uses minimal electric when operating. Heating water using electric is about 4 times more expensive than gas.

But you are likely to be using electric to heat the water in the dishwasher. Washing by hand, in my house, involves gas in the combi boiler. Gas is still much cheaper than electric.

When the washer has finished, bang it back on a 1600rpm spin cycle. Amazing how dry the clothes feel when they come out. Takes very little time in the dryer after that.

    Gas & Electricity

If you can afford a winter bill for say £500 in one hit, carry on. Most people can't, so split the cost of their energy throughout the year. Easier to have the credit there rather than the temptation of it being in my bank account. Most energy firms used to give a discount for paying monthly...

2 litres for a washing up bowl. Are you a borrower! Be lucky to get 3 teaspoons in at a time.

    Phone lights during match

Ten minutes before the start of the 80 minute stadium emptying beginning. Probably just checking the time of the next tram!

As an out of towner my only recollection of Booth Hall children's hospital was as a youngster, the collection for admittance to the Beehive on matchday. No idea if the money made it there, or merely covered their dominoes losses in the lounge!

Stupid little things that bug you

I've got two express stores near me. What if I go to both? Hey wife, I'm off to tesco's

Depends. If you have an electric shower a bath is a much cheaper option. Could probably have 3 baths for the price of a 10 minute shower pulling a minimum of 8.5kw.

Ford to bin the Fiesta off

£6.23 per gallon. Can I order 50 litres worth off you. It's currently around £7.40 per gallon but I get your point.

Ford to bin the Fiesta off

Yes, I'd happily pay £5 to fill a petrol car for 5-6 hours overnight. Sign me up please as I can't afford to switch to an electric vehicle.

Ford to bin the Fiesta off

It's sad that people think of cars as something other than a piece of metal with 4 wheels, whose purpose is to transport you from a to b. You'll be giving your car a name next :-)

    Liverpool Thread - 2022/23

Yes, but it's actually an example of a successful Merseyside police investigation. A very rare event.

Garth Crooks' Team of the Week

Wow. Is the fat slug finally starting to talk sense: Having seen the challenge on Manchester City's Erling Haaland, by Robert Sanchez in the Brighton goal, I'm starting to think there is nothing wrong with VAR technology but everything wrong with the people who interpret what's taken place...

Never had an issue with the Amazon coverage. Picture quality better than BT and Sky for me.

    Gas & Electricity

A slight aside, but unfortunately, and part of the major problem is we are now living with a first/second generation of people who have grown up with central heating. I could quite easily go through winter without, it was 2002 before I moved into a house with central heating and double glazing...
