    Most annoying accent

I'm aware that to those more attuned than I, they are all different, but they all sound annoying to my ears. Apart from Liam Neeson's.

    Most annoying accent

Absolutely this. Arsenal Fan TV is unwatchable for me, which is a shame because it looks pretty funny. Not particularly fond of the southern Irish accent, but I love Northern Irish (on girls, specifically - on blokes it just sounds angry).

    General Videogame Thread

Easily fixed, too, by downloading an option file (on PS4 at least). Takes about 30 mins and instructions need to be carefully followed, but well worth the effort. I'd add the PesWorld one to you recommendation - really good and it's free, unlike PESFan and some others.

    General Videogame Thread

PES 2018 is superb; one of the best footy games I've played in a long while. I went off the series during the PS3 days, and also found FIFA to be fairly dull (bar FIFA 10), so I'd been without a footy game for a while (stuck with PES6 for years). I had PES 2015 and 2016; both were good but...

    Pep BBC 5 live

I reckon it was Mancini. I recall that pre-game he would have the subs warm up on their own at the side whilst the first eleven would warm up together; there also tended to be a lot of negativity coming from players at the time who were regularly subs.

The wonderful things City fans do to avoid United associations

Haha not far off actually. Mourinho 'Special One' my arse; I was years ahead of him. What tended to do was spend all their money buying City's worst players (the double whammy of draining their transfer budget whilst replenishing ours) and then I'd put Ryan Giggs in goal just to humiliate him.

Two more retail companies look doomed

Video games are somewhat of an anomaly in that the downloadable/digital versions of games are usually more expensive than the retail ones; and then of course you have the pre-owned market which only applies to physical copies. So, there is still room and a need for video game retailers. It's a...

    Love that, thanks for posting.

    United thread 2017/18

I had a very good feeling that Sevilla would do them. Contrary to the 'expert' punditry opinion that the first-leg was a good result for Utd, I felt that but for De Gea Sevilla would have won quite comfortably and that they would take that goal threat to the second leg. A 0-0 draw away in the...

    Jim Bowen RIP

Loved Bullseye and thought Bowen was top drawer. What I liked most about him was the way in which he was very encouraging towards the guests and helped them feel at ease; they were there for a day out and he made sure it was enjoyable and memorable for them. These days, quiz shows or other...

    Stephen Hawking RIP

I never said it was physical; I was referring to the 'treating women with disdain' part. I agree with you and disagree with johnnytapia on that. Regarding his treatment of staff, of course it is anecdotal evidence, but I've no reason to think that these doctors (one of which was a senior...

    Stephen Hawking RIP

An ex-gf of mine was a hospital doctor in Cambridge and it was well known that he was a right shit to female care staff and nurses. A few of her colleagues whom I met corroborated this. On the other side things, I know a few people who have worked at the Cambridge colleges and they have spoken...

    Media Thread 2017/18

I've watched that stream a few times and Higgingbottom has always been very complimentary and fair, at times even gushing in praise of us.

    Anti depressants..

I've been on two short courses: fluoxitine when I was at university, and sertraline a couple of years ago. The former was great and made me feel fantastic, but the latter made me feel worse - though it could've just been down to the nature of my 'illness', my age the time and what I was...

Award for the best “park the bus “

Has to be Chelsea. No other team has had players 'close down' by walking over, stopping a yard away and scratching their chin. It was pathetic.

    Seeing Stars at City

I bumped into him in the toilets at Maine Road (in the corporate/fancy bit) - think it was a home game against Crystal Palace, 1-0 courtesy of Horlock. He asked me if I was enjoying the game; I was a bit starstruck and taken aback, so I've no idea if I actually answered him. I also sat just to...

    Eyebrows

I had an eye test a couple of years ago due to frequent headaches and the girl doing it had the most ridiculous brows. She had shaved off her real ones and drawn these stupid curves - and I'm not talking slight curves, I'm talking McDonald's arches. They gave her this permanent look of surprise...

    The National Anthem

I'm not sure if it's true (although it sounds like it could be), but I once read that there are only two national anthems in the world which extol the Heads of State rather than the nation and/or its people - ours, and North Korea's. I'm a republican, I don't believe in god, I'm not into...

League Cup Final - Post Match Thread

Great day. Blues in very good voice considering how cold it was. Atmosphere was strange towards the end because Arsenal had just given up and the game kind of petered out. My previous three visits to Wembley were Wigan final, Arsenal Community Shield and Arsenal semi last year, so I was...

Songs you hate with every fibre of your being.

Penny Lane by The Beatles - sounds like a theme tune to a crap sitcom Happy by the Farrell guy in the hat - that song makes me very unhappy
