Pep BBC 5 live

The only irritation for me was the reference to the press conference after the Burnley game last season, and the continual obsession with Pep's reaction to a stupid "Have your team got a discipline problem?".
Pep was annoyed with the inconsistent refereeing around that period (Rojos and Barkley only getting yellow cards, and Fernandinho getting red), but it was the reaction that journalists remember.

I remember that, Mourinho and Klopp have both had far worse press conferences since then but this is the one that gets remembered by the press.

Probably a bit late but if you don't want to sign up to iPlayer and give them enough details for them to commit identity fraud you can just hit the download button and grab an mp3.

I've just done that but have no idea how to find it. The search engine is shite.

The best way of downloading anything off of iplayer is through an open source app called 'get_iplayer'. It can be downloaded from sourceforge, here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/get-iplayer/

It is a command line tool, so it would pay to have a butcher's at the documentation, linked to at that page. However, the Pep programme is at:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b09z67qv

The last part of that address is the bit you need. Open up get_iplayer (it'll take time to load, as it refreshes the database), and enter the command:
'get_iplayer --pid=b09z67qv' (without the quote marks), and press enter.

Bob's your uncle. This applies to any iplayer download, TV or radio. No signing in, no limit on how long you can keep the programme, and the app automatically converts any downloads to mp4 for your convenience. If the app is on your desktop, that is where it will download the file.

EDIT:
I just downloaded the programme, and it is converted to .m4a, whatever that is. VLC plays it fine, though.

Who was the manager referred to if you weren't in his first 11 you might as well be dead? I'm presuming mancini? Can't imagine it was Manuel?

I think it was pre-Mancini. Wouldn't have been Sven I don't think: I have it on good authority that he was popular with all the players, even ones who didn't get picked to play often.

Pearce or Hughes would be my guess.

I reckon it was Mancini. I recall that pre-game he would have the subs warm up on their own at the side whilst the first eleven would warm up together; there also tended to be a lot of negativity coming from players at the time who were regularly subs.

Excellent, many thanks mate :)

I thought that both Ballague and Ladyman were peddling their own agenda. Ladyman in particular defending the English press pack last season and their standard of questioning during press conferences. He made a big deal about how ‘superior’ Pep acted last season but how he had been calmer this season. I thought he talked a load of bollocks frankly. Ballague peddled his own ideas and reflected his books. He did throw in some interesting comments ‘Pep is happy for the first time in his career’ ‘Pep will renew year on year’. Pat Nevis was an obvious disciple and was extremely positive. It was interesting that the one topic they glossed over was referees. Ballague mentioned that the inconsistency of referees was Peps biggest shock in England albeit he had been warned before the event. I thought that got pretty cursory discussion (there is a surprise). Overall though found it enjoyable and was pleased to hear the ongoing revisionism by the English media. They always thought he was a great coach and would succeed in the Premier League where they had welcomed him with open arms!
What we need is a couple of generals who can switch the style of play on the pitch mid game as and when required.

In the team? KDB and Silva are obviously Pep's men on the field, team instructions get passed to KDB by Pep on the touchline.

But why would style of play change? Pep's been very clear he's not going to do that.
