I believe the main objection was an open ended ceasefire while a peace deal could be agreed. 30 days probably wouldn't change much as both sides would take advantage. It also throws the ball the other way.

I think it only being 30 days is the key.

A ceasefire or a peace agreement means nothing without security guarantees. The biggest threat to global security is how fast the US drops sanctions.
