Committees are elected by the members to have the club run the way they want, the greenkeepers are there to set up the course as the members want within reason. Our previous greenkeeper who was completely out of his depth set the course up so difficult that upto a third of the competition would...

    Magpies

Not a fan, I kept zebra finches years ago and one escaped. A magpie swooped down, caught it, then flew on top of next doors roof and promptly ate it.

    Lowering the drink driving limit

It's becoming a shit place to live the UK, I'm sick of my life being micro managed by those twats in power and no I don't drink drive.

The new handicap system overall is a good thing for the game because it allows the casual golfer who may only play a few times a year to get and maintain a handicap without being a member of a club. On the flip side it's a cheats charter. Handicap manipulation has always gone on but this new...

An issue with fast greens is where the pin is positioned. Our previous greenkeeper who jumped before he was pushed loved to position them on the crest of a slope or hanging off the edge and at times were unplayable. Ours are approximately 10 on the stimp and playable for everyone, on the club...

    Electric cars

My gripe with electric cars is that in a few years that's all we'll be able to buy new. The charging infrastructure is pitiful and I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same 10 years down the road. Regarding the nearest charger to me being 2 miles away I could put my bike in the boot, cycle home...

Chargers are everywhere you say. I live in Warrington, a town with a population of 200k yet the nearest charger to me is 2 miles away and it's a lamppost where anyone can park. Unless you have a driveway they're a complete nonsense starter.

As it happens I'm trading in the Prius today, it's given me 7 years of total reliability and 150k miles of stress free driving. Unfortunately it's an old lady now and the dreaded MOT was about to catch up on her. I'm hoping the Honda I've bought is just as good.

Your big mistake was buying French, their cars are shite. Certainly new cars are incredibly complex and are expensive to maintain. I'm sure that the manufacturers design the engine to fail when just out of warranty. I'm looking to change my Prius soon, it's done over 300k miles without any...

    Electric cars

I've nothing against them and recently did a 100 mile trip in an electric Hyundai and it was superb. My point was that without the financial incentives most people would choose petrol or diesel. As for when they're out of warranty who'd want the liability of a battery replacement for £10k for...

    Electric cars

When the lease is up, what happens to them? Private buyers are just not interested in electric cars and dealerships are wary of putting them on the books. A well looked after diesel or petrol car should last 20 years, that's not going to happen with electric. If the only way you can shift them...

Anthony Burns RIP dad... bereavement question? Is it normal not to cry.

My father died last month aged 94 from Alzheimer's. I felt happy for him that he'd finally been released from that cruel disease and he told me before he lost all his marbles that's his wish also. I'm just remembering the good times we had and that he had a great life until near the end. I feel...

    Ozzy RIP

What a life! First and foremost he was a great vocalist for Sabbath and his own band, let's remember him for that.
