West Ham (H) Post Match Thread

Yes. Like you I could only watch the highlights on Sky, but from those I thought City played really well - apart from finishing. I think that maybe when you're watching the whole match, the tension gets to you a bit & every mistake becomes worse because it extends the uncertainty of the result...

    João Félix

This lad looks the business. Would love to see him sign for City.

    Luka Jovic (signed for Real)

This lad looks a very good player. I do like his ability to kick with either foot which helps with both finishing & dribbling. He seems to read the game pretty well from the highlights, though of course you don't see his mistakes. If his work ethic is good, he could be a great signing.

Walker would have had a far less uncomfortable day, if he'd received a bit more help from Raj. Several times he had to cope with 2 attackers because Raj had either lost the ball or didn't track back. Until the yellow card I thought he played very well. Afterwards, as you say, a bit jittery...

Crystal Palace (H) Post Match Thread

Just to give everyone a bit of perspective, City are recognised, currently, as one of the best teams in Europe, broke all records last year, still in 4 competitions this year & sit second in the league. My home team were relegated out of the football league last season after 98 years & currently...

    Everton (H) Post Match Thread

Actually, I disagree on Delph. He's a midfield player - and a very good one as demonstrated when he captained England recently & was man of the match. I think he's quite happy with the quick passing game; he's got a pretty good first touch & looks for space once he's moved the ball on. However...

    The Bert Trautmann story...

That's an excellent documentary. What a life he led. Times of desperate tragedy, inspiration & glory. For me, the saddest thing in the whole film was when he said "The way I was treated... fairness, kindness, tolerance. You're a special type of people; you're a special island." Perhaps we were...

    Referees’ Performances 2018/19

When I was a lad playing football, it was always a foul to use your hands or arms either to touch the ball (except when it simply hit you) or to grab hold of or block a player. Somewhere down the line it has become acceptable & frequently evades punishment from match officials. As an adult in a...

Joe Hart - thank you and good luck

Thanks for everything, Joe. Best of luck with your new club. You will always be a legend at City. I hope you find your best form & I hope you'll always be remembered as the truly great goalkeeper we all saw at City.

Without a doubt one of the best players to ever wear a city shirt & one of the greatest to grace the Premier League. We will miss you Yaya.

    Media Thread 2017/18

Yes. I wondered how the figures would have looked for this season only. Also something of a foregone conclusion since Klopp's "net" spend was nowt. If he'd failed to gain a single point he'd still be top of the table. What's the point?

    Thanks Yaya

For a while he was head & shoulders better than any other player in the league. One of the best players we've ever seen at Manchester City and in English football. Best of luck YaYa
