Match Thread | Manchester City vs. Aston Villa (24/05/26)

Mad isn't it! It doesn't matter. Be nice to win for Pep but more important things for both the players and manager.

Just too lightweight, people question why we bought Semenyo with his technical defincies but his physicality is why. This league is so physical now you can't have TR, RL, PF, Savio in a team and expect to do well for 90 mins.

    Aston Villa - Sun 24th May, 16:00 | PL | Pre-Match Thread

No? There's nothing riding on the game and most players have had a long season with a WC ahead. What would NOR benefit from playing in this game?

    The Rodri dilemma

Being written of way too early. He was superb v Arsenal in the league cup final, and vs them in the league, he's clearly not been fully fit last 2 games but fair play to him for playing with a WC on the horizon. Losing him and Bernardo would be a killer blow and no chance we'd win the league...

    Enzo Maresca

I'd be astonished, he's been with Pep for ages. He'll be a loss and clearly the players love him.

    Enzo Fernandez

Tbf when Phil had his run in the team from September to December he ran his bollocks off.

    What's Next ?

Clean resolution to the charges firstly, but I'd love another CL or at least a better run.

Best goal of the Pep era

I don't know why but Haaland's second goal v West Ham in his PL debut, sign of things to come in our most glorious season but summed up the second half of Pep's tenure. Rodri maruding, simple ball to Kev with the most scrumtous through ball and a text book Haaland finish (also helped I was...

England World Cup 2026 Squad | Trafford, Stones, Guehi & Nico in

It's fine isn't it? Just selected some talented young ish kids with some PL experience to be back ups for the friendlies, no need for Foden/Palmer etc to be in those roles. If Saka gets injured say it will be one of those two.

    3 | Ruben Dias - 2025/26

We have so so many games, not as granular these days as X has to start, there will be injuries, rotation, oppo based selections, plenty of games to go around.

    Enzo Fernandez

Those Anderson numbers for Duel %, Poss won and forward passes (have to take into account he plays for a team who tend to sit deep) are really impressive. He's not a Bernardo replacement. Be interesting to see Enzo's numbers compared to Bernie as that feels more like for like to me.

    47 | Phil Foden - 2025/26

Completelty agree. Hope we get an announcement about his contract so that can be put to bed and he can have the summer off. He's shown signs this year that he's still the player we know but he's one of us and I'd always wanting him wearing our badge regardless.

Nico O'Reilly - Etihad player of the year and PL Young POTY P2

Superb season for the lad and what a gem of a player he is, I'm sure he'll shine for England in the WC and be one of the first names on the teamsheet next season. However, for Haaland not to win really is astonishing (people mentioning AK45 who didn't play first half of the season really!), I...

God no, long throws suck the life out of the game, we don't want to turn into Arsenal.

Found this video really interesting - incredibly similar philosophy to Pep in the way they want to attack, control the game and have a numerical advantage.

Pep to leave at the end of the season

He won't and shouldn't waste his energy on that. Sunday should be a celebration of the greatest manager we've ever and will ever seen and that's all it should be.
