I get the worry that Fernandez might not quite fit as a personality. But IF Maresca wants him, anyone saying he isn't good enough pretends to know his qualities better than Maresca and that's silly.

He might be a good player , but he’s a racist and I don’t want a racist at the club. If we are rebuilding the midfield I don’t want someone like that as the first part of the rebuild.

Those Anderson numbers for Duel %, Poss won and forward passes (have to take into account he plays for a team who tend to sit deep) are really impressive. He's not a Bernardo replacement. Be interesting to see Enzo's numbers compared to Bernie as that feels more like for like to me.

All these stats are based on percentiles compared to other midfielders and have been adjusted for possession & game time.

VAEP is essentially the impact they have on their team in all three phases.

Blue ring for all three is Enzo.

We have had under the current manager 10 years where we have clearly included personality as a part of our recruitment philosophy, let’s hope we don’t immediately throw that away with the new manager and look at twats like Fernandez and Cucurella

I get that worry. It might be justified.

But there are trade-offs with most players. And those at the club are best positioned to weigh the trade-offs. They are not immune against mistakes. Still, we need proper fighters. Foden and Reijnders ain't that, Cherki too. We need warriors in midfield. Fernandez fits that profile better than most on the market, arguably including Anderson (not sure about that, but you get the point).

Same bullshit as Isak last year, Fabrizio is mates with certain agents one being Maresca and also Fernandez, they will push a social media narrative to try to make it acceptable to fans

Personally as soon as that **** romano keeps tweeting the same story daily you get tired of the bullshit behind the scene.

plus ypu can acceptnitnis happening but don't need to accept the player when here, only a few people we have been linked with in 30+yrs I have opposed and would not cheer if came, he has joind that few, he comes fine nothing I can do bit I won't cheer this **** once.

He sung a song with racist lyrics about the French national team with his Argentine team mates after they beat France. Also I didn’t know this but he’s said some Homophobic phrases as well during celebrations

Not great that at all and am sure something the club and Viana will have to think about and address if they push on with a move for him.

He’ll be on a diversity & inclusion course on LinkedIn Learning before the first day of pre-season. One of his KPIs for the year will be “no racist / …ist comments”, and he’ll replace Stones on the halftime respect video.
