I quite like the idea of this. I think it will be great for football, and I hope it has a long successful future.

But you know that 90% of them aren’t choosing to. Half of them aren’t being allowed to work from home, half of them can’t. Wonder how many people were furloughed last March and haven’t been this time.

    Coronavirus (2021) thread

Everything isn’t shut, at all... you know that. Supermarkets and (non) essential shops continue to be a problem. Schools are still busy. People are still having to go work unnecessarily. Cases are reducing which is fantastic, but we all know a little more could have been done.

    Coronavirus (2021) thread

Just on this subject: https://commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-briefings/cbp-8866/ 21st December 2020 Based on the current amount of deaths (80k), that’s £3.5m per death. I haven’t got figures of hospitalisations to hand to see what that would look like. How much do NICE allow for...

    Coronavirus (2021) thread

I don’t think seeing one, two or three people regularly is the problem. In my work I would have been interacting with 12+ people everyday, and I’m sure that’s a similar story for millions in the country. So work environments, and supermarkets (bring back limits on shoppers, social distancing)...

    Coronavirus (2021) thread

Millions of people still have to interact every day for work in non-essential roles as their employers won’t allow them to work from home or furlough. Thousands of kids have to go to school at the moment who didn’t have to in the first lockdown - more unnecessary mixing. I’ve stopped working...

Feeling pessimistic that it will be further half measures and dragging the current situation out for longer than necessary. Just get it over and done with. Get strict. Get us back to normal sooner.

Schools, HOPEFULLY limits on people in supermarkets and queuing again. More stuff shut. A slightly stronger worded ‘work from home’ message, yet still non-commital.

So pretty much at herd immunity levels by then, adding on vaccination numbers and previous cases. Sounds like Boris has solved the COVID problem! ( /s )

    Spurs (A) - Post-Match Thread

I think at least a good portion of us are dissatisfied with Pep based on the last 4-18 months. A hell of a lot of fans would like to see better football and/or better results. Why would anyone be scared of saying it? People are allowed opinions, and these are valid.

    Spurs (A) - Post-Match Thread

Okay, slept on it and should be thinking a little more clearly. Taking this game in isolation: not the end of the world. 2-0 to a top 4 team/title challenger happens. They played great and gave us no space to run or create. We were toothless. Couple of big mistakes. One positive - I felt a few...
