    Food that can do one

Would have agreed with this 3 years ago. Until I stopped drinking cow's milk. Now I look back and wonder how I was brainwashed into drinking it in the first place. We don't need to breastfeed from a cow.

AKE - what a rock today. Really made the difference.

How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

I said the best future without the EU, not the benefits of Brexit. We have a rubbish hand, but still need to make the most of it. I'm not sure how this thread contributes anything towards it, it's just full of bitter whining.

How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

This thread has a lot of moaning and fierce 'I told you so' but it would be nice to come in here and read some answers/suggestions/news relating to the thread title. Since a bit of annoyance immediately following the vote I've not really had the strength of feeling shown in here and would rather...

    The Conservative Party/Government

As much as labour were unelectable last time, the tories have done so much damage that the hurt is real and will endure. There's so much bad feeling to last this time.

    The Conservative Party/Government

Pretty much guaranteed 2 terms. It will take a long time to forgive the tories. Starmer seems to be the right guy here so expecting good things of labour without the left wing hysterics.

    Just Stop Oil protests

and where are these places in the UK for our waste?

    Just Stop Oil protests

Would that not make the land unusable though.. 'far from habitation' is a difficult thing to do, pushing a 9bn global population and 70billion land animals to feed us.

How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

The alignment makes sense, unless there's something totally obscure which just doesn't suit us. It's easier to make one product and sell it across Europe than have two. I quite like Starmer, he's growing on me.

    20MPH Speed Limit - Wales

I think it's the right move, it will encourage active travel and what the OP said about higher emissions is nonsense. I'd love for my local road to school to be 20mph instead of 30.

Has the BBC become a Tory tool?

Boring, it was news in 2016.

How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

I don't understand this view. In this country some eat cows, chickens and sheep. They keep others as pets. In other countries they eat dogs. All animals equally feel the suffering of the human food chain, why are some animals more special than others?

How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

That's the latest tax situation in Ireland or possibly a subsequent EU rule update, so it's not relevant to when we made the decision. It's a demonstration of making a change where it's needed quickly and without having to align with a long bureaucratic process. The savings were passed on as I...

How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

That's not right - it was as a direct result of the EU withdrawal that allowed it. You can see it here - https://www.gov.uk/government/news/tampon-tax-abolished-from-today move made possible by end of the transition period and freedom from EU law mandating VAT on sanitary products It's not...

How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

Thanks, it's a good job your wife and daughter are not the official barometer of UK cost of goods. Businesses price at net costs, the VAT is just a reduction on the price on shelf with no impact to the business. They don't recoup it. This is just an example of when local decision making can be...

How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

I've named an example already, the one preventing zero VAT on women's sanitary products. Could not be changed without EU agreement, now established as of Jan 2021. Yes we agreed to it initially, but when the public opinion rightly shifted on this, we were powerless to enact the change...

Were they followed when in the EU?

How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

I voted remain, I just can understand why a trade relationship turned political alignment doesn't sit well with the older generation.

How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

These are laws we can't change without prior agreement with the EU. This slows down change when it's needed.

Is this only a post brexit issue then?
