As much as labour were unelectable last time, the tories have done so much damage that the hurt is real and will endure. There's so much bad feeling to last this time.

Pretty much guaranteed 2 terms. It will take a long time to forgive the tories. Starmer seems to be the right guy here so expecting good things of labour without the left wing hysterics.

I don't understand this view. In this country some eat cows, chickens and sheep. They keep others as pets. In other countries they eat dogs. All animals equally feel the suffering of the human food chain, why are some animals more special than others?

I voted remain, I just can understand why a trade relationship turned political alignment doesn't sit well with the older generation.

These are laws we can't change without prior agreement with the EU. This slows down change when it's needed.
