Match Thread | Man City VS AS Roma (30/09/14)

Hummmmmm, trying to be optimistic, we never seem to do anything the easy way. You never know, we might beat them in Rome and beat Moscow twice.

Good point, that's the problem, Champions League matches are all played in the evening. Must be the explanation.

What areas in Greater Manchester are blue?

Mixing some of the previous posts together, I went to school in the late 60s / early 70s on Princess Road and I recall my class in one year had 23 blues, 4 rags and a Huddlesfield supporter ( a good lad actually). My mates said I was in the "United Class" as no other classes in the year had...

    Hated Footy Phrases...

And "it's not good for English football to see Liverpool/Rags/Arsenal/Spurs/Villa not competing for the title". Which teams should NOT be competing for the title; MK Dons; Scunthorpe; Bury?

Perhaps they should have been given an easier first half dozen games e.g. against six League 1 or League 2 teams?

The Beast to be dropped from CL list ?

I would rather risk this than leave out another outfielder for two chances which ought to be less than 5% each. I think leaving out Sagna might be the least bad answer in January but only if Club is confident by then of the Beast's match fitness.

Re: Guardian Premier League predictions 13/14 (some belters! ..I hear that Polly Toynbee is a big footie fan and she is surprised that no one has bid for Monday Bandele and Ryan Naysmith.

Great, I hope you enjoy the match and you are wise to stick to beer rather than vodka, especially if Vlad suggests you compete with him drinking whilst standing on the window ledge overlooking Red Square.

    Scott Sinclair

I wonder if our powers-that-be on transfers are talking to Southampton about Scott and Micah? It seems to be that they have the money and have demonstrated that they are willing to sell on for a. profit when a player attracts interest from the likely CL places contenders. Surely a win-win-win...

Strip Russia of the 2018 World Cup?

Problem in the Ukraine is that around 70% of the population look westwards towards EU/NATO etc and around 30% look eastwards towards Russia. The last thing 100% of Ukainians need is a UK politician shooting from the hip and merely demonstrating that he will never become a statesman who knows...
