City launch legal action against the Premier League | City win APT case (pg901)

These are not just “practising” lawyers but leading experts in their field. Having been involved in quite a few major commercial disputes over the years and taking counsel’s opinion, it’s invariably been a KC - I’ve never known it be an academic. And it costs a small fortune.

City launch legal action against the Premier League | City win APT case (pg901)

I think there was some evidence of them rejecting external legal advice around the word “evidently” in connection with the FMV assessment of AP transactions

The old adage of “those who cannot do, teach” is often true, particularly where commercial and legal matters are concerned.

Of that panel of four, I would always tend to put more weight on the views of practising experts in the field rather than an academic. On the bases of each individual bio, Leaf seems most expert and Zglinski least. 3 out of 4 is good :)

I was always told that unlawful was something against the law and the other one was a sick bird !

Given the seniority and eminence of this panel, (former Supreme Court etc) I’d say it’s findings would not be challenged/changed by a court of law.

Concerning Mancini, I think there was an obligation, at the time, to show all Manager remuneration on the books. It predated FFP. They will have to show his consultancy contract with the Abu Dhabi club was a sham - can’t see this going anywhere tbh.

Dead silence in the Telegraph too - no doubt waiting for a steer from their controllers!
