These are not just “practising” lawyers but leading experts in their field. Having been involved in quite a few major commercial disputes over the years and taking counsel’s opinion, it’s invariably been a KC - I’ve never known it be an academic. And it costs a small fortune.
I think there was some evidence of them rejecting external legal advice around the word “evidently” in connection with the FMV assessment of AP transactions
Of that panel of four, I would always tend to put more weight on the views of practising experts in the field rather than an academic. On the bases of each individual bio, Leaf seems most expert and Zglinski least.

I guess they simply addressed the dispute as set out in the submitted docs and no more. I know the panel have been asked to further clarify certain matters (eg legal status of the rule book) and that will happening right now in confidential discussions. As an aside, and as previously pointed out...
Concerning Mancini, I think there was an obligation, at the time, to show all Manager remuneration on the books. It predated FFP. They will have to show his consultancy contract with the Abu Dhabi club was a sham - can’t see this going anywhere tbh.
