I pay £80 per month for sky, I would fuck that off before my season cards.

Agreed. Me too.

In this thread we moan about games costing another couple of quid.

In the next one we are bleating the owners haven't shoved 30 million towards some Brazillian child the rags are after.

a couple of quid?????????????????????????????????????????????? mate its going up by the 100s to buy tickets each year, people are allowed to be upset at being ripped apart and torn away from the club they love

There was no warning or indication this huge rise was coming for non season ticket holders.

I don't like it,it goes against everything City has always been about.I don't give a toss about FFP,the fact we have a better team, have won two trophies, this is ripping off and pricing out loyal blues who have given their all for this club over the years!

Something needs to be done collectively to make our feelings known, where are all these official supporters branches now?

I have been there through all the bad times-Does that make me loyal or a glory hunter?

I do not blame the club one bit for raising prices. What does it go against mate? We were run if we are honest by clowns and had it not been for Mansour we could quite easily be where Pompey are.....The club recognises the support the fans have given and always given but what do you want? A free ticket each week. I think you need to wobble your head bud. I hate paying £175 per week for my shopping bill, but I choose to continue to shop at Tesco instead of going to Aldi etc. Do you think Tesco will drop their prices for me for years of loyal shopping there?

I think it is YOU want to give your head a wobble mate!

It isn't about scoring points on loyalty but it WILL price out not only blues who HAVE been loyal for years, but new ones too.People expected a price rise but not so steep and the free ticket anology is frankly pathetic.Of course we expect to pay.So is the Tesco one.No one is loyal or feels affinity to a supermarket, people go to the nearest or cheapest one.

I will say what i have said in an earlier post for those too thick to get it.You may think ''I'm alright Jack' now as you can afford it.How about next season, what if season tickets go up £300 a year minimum? What then?

how can you not blame the club, ultimately they're the ones who decided to increase the ticket prices, ticket revenue itself is barely anything to the club. the club didnt have to put up the prices, but did. I BLAME THE CLUB IN THE MAIN.

were gonna end up like the rags :(

also hate all the replies of just cut your spending- ie dont buy non essentials, go out less, save more - since when did football become more of a priority for some people than paying bills and being able to afford a home. This is MANCHESTER city not london city, the wages are a lot less here and no doubt many locals will not be able to afford the prices now. Cant wait for the replies of its the price of success- no it isnt, what if it goes to 100 quid do you just accept it. People need to collectively make a stand.

So going out on the lash is obviously more important to you than watching City yeah? I have never once said curb your spending but if you can't afford it pissing £50-£100 quid up against the wall every weekend isn't going to help.
Make a stand-It is your democratic right but blaming the club !! - Why? Let me ask you one question. Is Man City a business (aswell as a football club)>???

-- Thu Jul 26, 2012 10:22 pm --

What then? I will consider my options but having a rich wife I am sure I will be alright. (Jack)

Tesco? What the fuck is that? Do you support tesco? Have you worn tesco shirts? Are you passionate about tesco? Are you fuck, it's a shit analogy .

Supporting your football team is part of who you are, shapes your identity and, if you are lucky gives you incredible highs as well as lows.

I don't think anyone is asking for free tickets, or expecting them. But an 80% rise is unfathomable. I know lads who've got no work in this current climate . I know people who've had hours cut and pay cut. Going to the match was all they had to luck forward to.
So do me a favour, think about what you're writing next time you want to impart your wisdom on us

If you read my posts before you shoot your mouth off I was stating that the cost of living is expensive-All aspects. If you can't see that then don't bother replying.

And yes you are asking for the club to give you something for nothing. If you don't like it,why dont you write to the clubs owners-see what they say.

£4 per week - do you smoke?

its football mate, I aint gonna give up g a holiday with my family, or being able to have a comfortable lifestyle. Some things are more important, stop being so patronising, you may be able to afford it fine, but there is plenty of people who are struggling to afford to live at the minute.

No I don't smoke btw. All I'm saying, and it may sound naive or idealist, is that in my life time (44) I had missed out on the so called glory years with city. Although this never stopped me going, obviously I wanted us to win things.
Now the glory is back with us I love the fact that I can take my son (8) to watch everything I never had. He's been going since he was 4, so he's had it good, but now I just cannot afford to go . No I don't smoke, barely go out, have sky (for the kids) but not sky sports as I can't afford it.

Another couple of quid this season, another couple of quid next season, another couple of quid every season. Where does it stop? Would you still be happy paying £80 for a game of football?

I dont have to pay these prices due to ST but have empathy with those that do. It seems that some don't...

How long before ST shoot up and cup schemes become compulsory. I reckon we are one season away from the latter.

If you read my posts I have the upmost emapthy with the blues who cannot afford to go anymore. What makes you think I don't ??

All I am saying is everyone has a threshold that they are prepared or can afford to pay. The debate is pointless IMO. A previous poster made a good point. It isn't just football that is rocketing,it's everything. Try doing a weekly shop now and compare it to 3 years ago. Believe me you will see more than a £4 per week increase. People blame football clubs/owners for pricing them out of the game. I have sympathy but I will do everything in my means to carry on - and in answer to your question..Yes I would. Either fuck sky off or never go watching City at home-It's a no brainer but people want every luxury in life iphones, laptops, fast cars etc etc and expect them things to just be affordable to them?
I really don't get it.

I would say from tracking this thread that a lot on here don't, to be honest. Ah well. C'est La Vie.

Evening Jim...I have the upmost empathy but refuse to blame the club for putting prices up. I want a Ferrari pal but can't afford it. Do you think the rich bastards empathise with me?? No they just think go and earn some more money etc...
I wasn't singling anyone out SHB(E). But I've lost count of the times on here that I've seen the same old comments about seasoncards being better value, getting rid of Sky, quitting the fags, stopping going out, getting rid of the car etc etc. As I've said previously, I don't have Sky (can't afford it with everything else), I don't smoke, I barely drink (can't, as I drive) and I rarely go out (again, too costly if you're shelling out for taxis and booze). The car is my only luxury (a 3 year old Peugeot 308) as I live out in the sticks with no public transport). I work in a shitty job and haven't had a pay rise in five years. I don't particularly lead a profligate lifestyle, but times are bloody hard. If I push it, I can get over to maybe 5 games a season. Discounting the value seasoncards which are very limited in their availability, the cheapest figure I've seen quoted on here for an adult seasoncard away from the family stand is £505. That would work out at £101 per game, so that's not a realistic option. Blue membership is my only viable choice. Not looking for sympathy (just as well as you won't get much on here!), just a bit of understanding as to why some of us are a bit pissed off.

Jim, this year on the superbia package, they introduced that ticket exchange whereby u can sell ur ticket on if you cant attend,it was an extra £50 ontop of your seasoncard price but double loyalty etc,i couldn't even afford that and had to buy gold as usual, maybe that would be an option for you next season, but its gonna get harder and harder to get a season card, just a thought .
