That's a lot of money to have to pay for Negredo - good player and all that, but I wouldn't say he's worth £24.5 million, which is roughly what 28 million Euros comes through as.

I'l support him to the hilt, as always - but I would personally have left him where he is at that price - particularly given that his sell on will be next to nothing as he's just about to turn 28

AS now reporting that a deal has been reached after Manchester City increased their offer from €25m to €28m. José Maria Del Nido to announce to Spanish media tomorrow.

Top end of the fee range for this player but I'm really satisfied we have a proven goalscorer who will relish working with Manolo.

Just Jo-Jo and defensive enforcer to finish a highly satisfactory market this Summer.
