why Negredo when Higuain is also available, younger and wouldn't cost much more?

Perhaps the manager wants him over Higuain, i think he has agreed to join Arsenal in any case.

ya maybe he'll be a good foil for Aguero but I dont see Negredo as one of Txiki's Type A players.

Correct it makes you wonder why we don't just say what the deal was. That is not the owners way though, far too classy for throwing numbers around, unlike a certain Napoli owner.
