I keep reading this is the man the manager wants so therefore lets get him. Now a few weeks ago when Mancini was sacked and the new holistic approach was being discussed I kept reading that the manager wouldn't be calling the shots anymore on what players we buy. Instead that would be down to Txiki and Sorrano and the coach would just coach.

Which one is it?

its called teamwork.. works quite well with football..

I understand that concept fairly well thank you. My point was to do with posters on here that seem to swing from one point of view to another to make it fit into whatever makes them think everything City are doing is just utter perfection. First it was from now on the directors of football will buy players to fit a system and a coach will be brought in to coach so we don't get a Mancini style of management who wants the final say. Next week it's the new manager want's things doing his way and so lets back him to the hilt to give him what he requires.

Both Begiristain and Pellegrini will work together on player recruitment but the DoF will have the final say imho. Pellegrini's job is to coach the players and is in charge of the first team's tactics.

No top quality costs over 25 mill if you don't cost that much you are second rate or shite according to our resident FIFA 13 experts

Ha ha it's laughable isn't it.

weird..very weird.. 25 mil is the price going around for rooney.. but if we buy a player for under 30 mil our OWN fans Think he is shit!

He's not shit, but he's not in the same class as Rooney or Higuain. If you'd actually seen him play you'd know that.

If he would of signed for West Ham earlier in the summer how many of you would of been saying WOW how on earth did West Ham manage to bag him?

If the rags sold Rooney and replaced him with Negredo this forum would go into a meltdown of laughter.

your a greedy bleeder... they got MOYES are your still not happy!

Good signing if it comes off. From what I've read/heard we'll be playing one up top in the big games next season (with Silva or Yaya just behind which I've been screaming for for about 18 months) so we now have Aguero as numero uno and two decent, not fantastic players in reserve plus a kid breaking through. This seems like a good balance, if you have Aguero and Cavani one of them misses the cup final or the derby and isn't happy. Of the four strikers they'll all know Aguero's top dog and unless they're on fire they probably won't start the big games. Knowing where you stand from the start means there shouldn't be discontent, it also means Dzeko and Negredo will have to work really hard if they do want to play the big games. I'm hoping Dzeko's attitude improves under Pellegrini but Negredo should be bang up for it in a world cup year.

Prof,

No one in their right mind ever thought that the manager would not have a say in who we buy.
