I’ve only ever seen one person wearing one of these shirts “in the wild”. A vague acquaintance of mine - attention seeking late 20s hipster who has no interest in football.

Yeah, there have been a few of those Puma shirts where I've thought "that looks alright" and then I've seen the back of it and it's got some stupid massive print on it. I guess that's what the kids like nowadays.
