“City in crisis”

I disagree with this up to a point. A fan who gets behind the team at games is a better supporter than those that constantly get on the players’ backs, and not just in respect of any potential impact on the players, but in relation to those around them who are expected to quietly accept their negative energy and bad vibes.
This is an entirely different matter. Going to games and riding players and shouting out negative stuff is not for me. I was speaking strictly from a BM perspective of voicing criticisms and concerns.

We all need to let off a bit of steam with an exasperated scream at a missed opportunity or defensive mistake... that's part of the football rollercoaster. However, those are instinctive reactions to very dynamic situations.
A cold calculated criticism of players having an off day isn't likely to improve their form.

It can be hard to feel enthused when the team are having a hard time but that is the true nature of support. Cheering the team on during the hard times. It's something we were once proud of.

Whilst our fanbase has changed significantly since our success, the core remains.
The best contribution we can make that stands a chance of making a difference is maintaining our support... morally and vocally.

In a strange kind of way I'm enjoying this bad run of form (Although the novelty is wearing off now) I think the whole club including us fans needs a kick up the arse. Its like with anything in life the more you have of something the less value it becomes. We have been spoilt rotten over the last decade and just expect to turn up and roll over teams, its a natural reaction to years of success.
This run has certainly lit a fire in me and I have got that siege mentality when going games, I'm hurting seeing rivals taking the p*** . I'm sure we will eventually bounce back again ( I have every confidence of Pep fixing this mess eventually) the feeling will be fantastic. A lot of surgery is required though and a few issues have certainly come home to roost. i.e small squad, poor recruitment and squad planning. I think the club have been overly self congratulatory and have took the eye off the ball which is kind of expected after 4 Title wins on the bounce.
I'm at peace with whats going on as I expected a downfall at some point albeit not to this extent. I'm looking forward to the process of a rebuild and hope the fans can behind this.
There is a lot of apathy at the moment though and the club really do need to sort off the field issues out with the Ticket Pricing and over Commercialisation. They might not be aware but the club and (same with other PL clubs) are losing touch with the working class fan and the core support. The tipping point has been reached, I know fans who have been simply priced out now and don't go anymore, I know a few City and United fans watching non-league clubs instead you only have to look at the inflated attendances to see this.
