“City in crisis”

Lose the next three PL fixtures and we'll definitely be entering crisis territory

Alternatively we beat Everton Leicester and West Ham and everything will look rosier, and the transfer window might conceivably open with City back in the Top Four.

We draw at PSG and comfortably dispose of Bruges.

For the moment I just want to enjoy the next few days without stress or irritation

Merry Christmas Everyone

Up the blues!

It is disappointing to see the amount of City fans whose heads have completely fallen off over this run of form. It’s unbelievable really the reaction some have had: from incessant moaning, to being twats towards certain players, to making up and spreading rumours… it’s like they learnt nothing from experiencing any of the bad years from 1983-2007.

There’s a reason nobody has ever won four league titles in a row before, the effort it must have taken and intensity they must have played at last season after the treble, must have been incredible. No wonder we lost the FA Cup final the week after.

This is a good reset for us as a club, but also interesting to see which fans have still got that tough City resilience.
I've been a supporter since '94 so my allegiance was certainly not born from winning trophies. That said, I'd be a liar if I didn't say I've never been happier as a supporter than since we won the FA Cup in 2011 until now. Maybe I'm an odd duck but winning 24 trophies and counting over 15 years is more enjoyable than winning the Championship in 2002 or being promoted in 99 and 00. I was ecstatic at that time, but this is different.

I'd like to think I haven't taken one bit of our success for granted. Many fans may be losing their heads. I'm not, but I am not going to be a happy or angry clapper. I am voicing my strong concerns as it relates to our remaining an elite side. IMO, we are in quite a spot of trouble and it will take some doing to get back to where we've been. Sorry but I'm not going to take anything for granted. To me that would be disrespectful to the dominance this squad has displayed over the past decade plus. Success like that takes some doing. Can we get back to our dominating level? I wouldn't bet against us. Will it really be as simple as some would like to think? I'm saying no.

Regardless, once you're in it's for life. So if we're to struggle for some time it is what it is. Coming onto BM and giving one's opinions on how this has come about, why, who has played what role is perfectly normal and means absolutely zero in terms of loyalty or love for the club. The Clappers are no more loyal or better supporters than anyone else.

I disagree with this up to a point. A fan who gets behind the team at games is a better supporter than those that constantly get on the players’ backs, and not just in respect of any potential impact on the players, but in relation to those around them who are expected to quietly accept their negative energy and bad vibes.
