“City in crisis”

We’ve been in decline for 18 months. We are so far off the entertaining and free looking football that we, and other football fans adored. Our recruitment policy has been abysmal. Remove Haaland from this and what was our last signing that genuinely made us excited, and be the other top 4 were envious of? We need a massive overhaul and bring through the fresh blood of our youth team, coupled with the addition of high quality proved players.
You can sign one dud like Philips and get away it but then you add Doku, Nunes, Savinho etc and it was going to come back to bite us eventually. All too slow and not suited to the team at all.

2 years is not really enough to rebuild this squad to face the challenges ahead.
-more games = bigger squads needed
-more restrictions on spending- The League will build rules around stopping us
-better standard of opposition- far better managers out there now using fast strong athletic players built to bully slow passing teams like ours.
At one time Mourinho was the man but his style was figured out now he's yesterdays man.
Pep needs to re think his model of the game . If only the very best technical players can deliver his style he needs to identify and buy them or come up with a new style.

Personally I dont think it is all down to the players, our style of play is shite and has been worked out. Teams know that they need to sit deep and hit us on the break, we spend 70% of our possession passing the ball back and forth across the box, its become predictable and boring as fuck. We need a change of system
Exactly this

I’m happy with the new contract extension of Pep, but I feel this rebuild will be the most scrutinised and challenging of his career. It’s time to really see what comes of the next 2.5 seasons, and that starts with the January transfer window and adding in proven solid winners who can make an instant impact.

Fast forward to summer, and many of the old guard need replacing, for me this includes Walker, Silva, KDB (called this last season), Gundogan etc. All the other teams have been given grace and “transition” periods - we are now in ours!

Yes indeed. I would add that a cautious rebuild over 3 or 4 windows is what we need rather than a desperate knee jerk reaction in January. While a case can be made to bring in 3 or 4 this could prove counterproductive in the long term. Anymore Purchases like Nunes or Phillips and we will be watching others lift the silverware once again.
The cautious build should of started in the last two transfer windows. Instead out goes one of our best youth prospects, while in comes someone who hang hung up his City boots for a final swansong at Barca. Being an holiday home for players past there sell by date isn't going to help our cause either.

I agree with this, I'm not giving up on Kev or Bernardo yet or even Gundo, but none of these should be playing every minute now. We need a pair of yound fast athletic full backs and a box to box midfielder that the others can play off.
We also need another proper forward. Letting Alvarez go with no replacement was madness.

We are too predictable and teams know whe have no plan B.

I don't think Lewis is at our level and Savinho looks lost, he might turn into something great but he's a million miles off it at the moment. Doku... ok but predictable.

I think 3 top signings in January and we could still do something this season, if that doesn't happen I think the wheels will come off properly and we'll struggle to make top 6.

Listen this was always coming at one stage it has hsppened to teams throughout history who have dominated ..........but possibly one poor season doesnt mean thats it ...............you look at the Liverpool and Man U teams who dkminated through there eras i can recall them having the odd drop didnt stop them from going on to win more did it ??????
You will be fine the media will have the crown on Liverpools head lets see how they cope with the pressure

The opposition is up the pitch causing havoc in our defence in a heartbeat ATM.
