“City in crisis”

The only rational explanation for me is that Rodri's injury has exposed a number of weaknesses that were already there, and they've since been magnified, especially as we now lose the ball more often in silly positions.

I always suspected that one day Ederson would prove to be a liability but equally not having a single orthodox Left Back, (despite chasing Cucurella a couple of summers ago) is now beginning to bite without Rodri's presence.

Walker and De Bruyne were both showing signs of ageing last season, but it didn't matter because Foden was scoring so many goals. Now he's not scoring any.

Plus what's the point of buying the most prolific goalscorer in world football if we're not even trying to play to his strengths with pace down the flanks and the ball whipped across?

I'm not sure if that constitutes a crisis, but after Villa we've got a run of supposedly winnable matches that will surely provide the answer.
I don't think we won game with Rodri injured in previous seasons so the signs where there

I think it's pretty poor form to turn on players when they are going through a crisis of confidence collectively..
We've had a spell of several years being the greatest football team ever to play top flight football in this country. We've broke every record going that will stand for decades. Seen world class players strutting their stuff. Now Three Months of shite football has sent many city fans over the cliff. The abuse these very players who have rewarded us with the biggest trophies about are getting from our own fans is fuckin staggering. We truly have some ungrateful fuckers following us.

Totally agree, it's beyond ridiculous how quickly large numbers of "fans" have turned on so many members of the team with such personal attacks. Welcome to the modern world it seems. Can't even blame Gen Z as most seem to be from an age where they should know better..

Was thinking last week that this season is starting to replicate the awful 1982/83 season. Second in December, nosediving towards relegation by May. No, seriously some of these fuckers need a boot up the old boom box.

it took time to build a dynasty but they fall easily let's just keep our heads.

Take foden never been in a losing team n his life, then the ground opens up underneath him multiply experience by the whole squad and its not a good place to be, it's unknown territory for many all the things that worked in the past, that got you through don't anymore

While we move to a new phase, citing a player absence or any other single factor misses the point lots of things are going wrong worn out found out and the bandwidth to think about and implement solutions isn't there

Cannot buy a new team, no planning for a new manager, no matter how much people criticise our players they are knacked mentally and many physically as well .

It's going to get worse before we hit rock bottom but then like after 20th Dec every new day is a little brighter and longer

Good post but I also think these charges have limited the club regards signings.

Whilst bringing Ilkay back was seen as a great signing, it also showed to me that the board were being cautious, just in case something serious happens.

Hence why we never let KDB, Bernardo, Kyle, Ederson go and replaced them with newer versions.

The Premier League, lead by certain clubs, have done their job in stunting City's continued progress.

Hopefully these charges will be gone by next season.

Suck this season up and watch City regroup, replace and respond next season.

That was the worst season i can remember. Although getting relegated as champions in the 30s was probably Citys worst ever season.
For me the good times can't exist without the bad times. Otherwise we have the monotony of sameness.
City have always given us ups and downs from grown men crying in the Kippax as the threat of relegation became reality against Luton (sadly i was there) to the ecstasy of QPR (sadly i wasn't there).
Yes i'm gutted by yesterday, particularly as the missus is a red, but like so many older fans, i have the perspective that this isn't actually that bad.
The clubs infrastructure is amazing. The plans for the future are amazing. Recent success has been amazing.
I have faith that we won't get relegated!
I have faith that at the end of each and every season the club will review the season thoroughly and take appropriate steps, and for me at least, that doesn't include getting rid of the best manager the club has ever had mid season as some seem to want. Well maybe not want but some at least are entertaining the idea.
