“City in crisis”

If this is it..if that was our time.
Would you care.
Yes I'd be pissed off its ended so quickly.
By the way I don't think it is.
But if that was it.
I'd just be grateful for what we've seen.
I thought under manchini was unbelievable
But what we've seen under pep has been simply mind blowing.
Maybe we should just appreciate what we've seen.
If we go back to typical city.
Normal proper fans no tourists.is that a bad thing ?
I was absolutely gutted coming out of the ground and can't get over Haalands abject performance......just fuckin jump for headers you twat....although that's one dissapointment amongst many today.
Something is not quite right but now I've got my head back together we need to back the boys.
Next stop Villa Park, come on City.

Hate to say it but for once I agree with Gary Chuckle. Coupled with the injuries we have hit a wall. Most of our players playing 60 to 70 games a season over the last few years. We forget the World Cup and Euros too. Bound to happen sooner or later. It will happen to other top clubs too.

Think it's time Khaldoon got all the players in a room (without Pep) and asked them 'do you still want Pep as your manager and and do you still believe in him?'
If the answer is yes then they need to be told to start fucking showing it then cos quite frankly this shit isn't acceptable.
If the answer is no then them players need kicking out the door, quick.
If any players want to throw Pep under the bus after all he's done for them (us) then they can leave.
I don't care who the players are or what they've won they can go.
He's taken the players from rags to riches, won them them everything.
The greatest manager City have ever seen and one of the all time greats.
Right now he's broken, he needs them to show some fight, some grit, some pride, something, anything!
He needs their support.
I get we've had injuries and have an ageing squad but 1 win 11 is just fucking appalling for the current Premier league champions.
The quality in this team means we should at least be able to do the basics and at the very least battle for 3 points.
It's time these players got a short sharp shock.
Maybe they'll get one next weekend when we could be 9th or 10th.
Recently our league position has masked what we've become.
Our form is that of relegation and we are currently the 3rd worst team in the league.
Right now we're in free fall.
I've finally had enough.
It's time to get tough and start cracking the whip.

I have had a thought about our problems.

Suppose just for a second no one is to blame!! I know right -:)

We have looked rather stale now for a while on the pitch. Predictable and sometimes a hard watch. What was once a formidable machine has ground to a halt.

Pep wants to continue using his system that has brought unparalleled success with this group of players. High press, high line, patient control the game, pass pass pass until you find an opening for a chance. Defend high and intercept the ball quickly to put the opponent under pressure.

Some of the players can’t do this anymore. The problems are well documented.

The only solution is to play counter attack football. Soak up pressure and use the wingers and Haaland to break on teams. Sit back when we don’t have the ball.

The team is stuck in no man’s land as a result. The only solution is the second option until we get to the summer for a reset. Pep can’t see it due to his blind side and philosophy and some of the senior players can’t admit it.

In summary,

Pep has his way of playing. Struggling to see past it which requires a complete change of thinking. Someone strong at the club needs to have an honest conversation which so far hasn’t happened.

Some of the older players can’t do what is asked anymore and either won’t admit it or can’t and some of the new players are not good enough to take over. As a result, we see a disjointed team all over the pitch.

All if them trying their best btw.

Until these honest discussions take place nothing will change. Time we see leadership off the pitch and time someone has the balls to point out what needs to be done and not worry about hurting peoples feelings. Khaldoon should be doing this.

Anyway, that’s what I have woke up thinking about now that iv digested the performances. You can see the players who believe in pep’s approach and can still carry it out. You can also see the players who can’t carry it out and you can also see the players who are not good enough to carry it out. Come on pep, set them up differently and remove some of the problems.

Phil Foden told a reporter that it was the players' responsibility, Pep was asked about this and he said no, it was his responsibility.

Can you imagine if Mourinho was in charge he would be throwing every player under the bus.

We cannot blame anyone because this team have given us their all, including Pep for the last decade, they must be shattered.

I am proud to be a Blue, Always have been and I will always be proud of my team.

Now is not the time to turn on them because they have given us their all, now it's our time to shine for 'Our Team', they need to know that we back them no matter what!!!

Whatever the reasons - complacency from the people running the club, massive player (and manager) burn out, those effing charges hanging over us, underestimation of how the loss of Rodri might affect us - we find ourselves in a very difficult place.

In the short term, very obviously we need to start winning games. The primary problem, notwithstanding loss of confidence and some of the most brain dead defending I think I’ve ever seen from an elite team over a period of several weeks, is that we have somehow assembled a squad that is totally unbalanced with no optimum playing style. Where are wins going to come from when we have a midfield filled with one paced, weak, tiny tots, both old and young? Gunders, Rico, Bernie, Kev. They can’t run, either up the pitch or back down it when they’ve lost possession, they can’t press and conversely aren’t press resistant, they haven’t got the pace or power to counterattack, and the slow build up thing, with full backs (in theory) creating overloads high up the pitch and our centre halves shoved up on halfway, constitutes an accident waiting to happen once the opposition freshen up with a couple of lively subs and start hounding us. We got away with it against Fulham, Brentford and Southampton earlier in the season, we didn’t against Feyenoord or United yesterday. Common to all those games though, was that we were utterly goosed by the 60 minute mark and spent the last 15 minutes of each, desperately trying to retain possession by passing the ball further and further backwards, piling pressure on ourselves in the process.
Personally, I think it’s getting harder and harder to see where a win is coming from. You don’t even have to be good to beat us at the moment. Just pick a team that’s disciplined and mobile.

In the longer term, the rebuilding task looks more daunting with every passing week. When Pep took over from Pellegrini, he inherited a similar task, but still had a core of world class talents in place - Dave, Kompers, Fernandinho, Kun - and Champions League football to lure top quality signings. This time, the world class talents we have (Kev, Stones, Gunders, Bernie, Ake - two of whom are part of our already small home grown quota, and Walker would be a third) are amongst those we need to offload, which quite honestly leaves us with not a lot. Foden, Ruben and a centre forward, who, whilst prolific, also has some serious shortcomings, most notably with his back to goal. And irrespective of our current league position, 1 win in 11 - and the Groundhog Day nature of the 8 defeats therein - says that CL football next season is the stuff of fantasy.

And then there’s Pep. Clawing at his own head and contradicting himself every other week, signing a new deal because he couldn’t leave the club needing a rebuild and then announcing that this job will be his last in club football because he couldn’t face having to, erm, familiarise a new team with his methods, which is precisely what he’s going to have to do at City. He looks like a man close to breaking point.

If there’s light at the end of the tunnel, then it comes in the form of players returning from injury. Kovacic looked sharp (for 10 mins at least) when he came on yesterday, we got some much needed air into Phil Foden’s lungs and a fit John Stones is essential and needs to be nursed back carefully. Plus the transfer window is only 3 weeks away, and If we’re going shopping in January then let’s not just belatedly mitigate against the ongoing chaos caused by Rodri’s absence, but buy a decent back up striker to take Haaland, who looks fit to drop, out of the firing line for a bit.
