Same with us at the 3-2 against the rags. Block was full of McDonalds competition winners. Fortunately we were able to move seats
I was offered 2 free tickets for City side, guy says came from McDonald's, I already had a ticket

Message boards are anonymous but if you're posting as a professional I think you should 'come out'.I realise I may not be a popular contributor to these pages, but I’ve tried for several months to get the club to engage with me in my capacity as a journalist (NUJ subs all paid up).
I’ve wanted to talk to them about away tickets but they refused to engage with me. They had a PR company call me and, basically, said I should put the questions to CIty Matters reps (some of whom don’t even bother to engage when you contact them).
I had tons of questions and queries for them, some of which may have our them in an uncomfortable position if they’d answered them honestly.
FWIW, my suggestion would be for an allocation as follows:
80% ticket points
15% corporate/club/partners
5% general ballot of SC holders (won once and not allowed in ballot for rest of season)
Do away with platinum (the free £600k, or more, tells me they won’t do this willingly).
Stop all abuses of all systems (that includes corporate, club, Supporters Clubs and ticket points).
Should people who aren’t seasoncard holders get away tickets from supporters clubs for example?
I don’t see the need for supporters clubs to get away tickets at all. I can see the benefit from the club’s point of view of last minute distribution of tickets through supporters clubs but that's all.
Corporates shouldn’t get a disproportionate number of aways but that won’t change.
The ring fencing of tickets for 18-25yo is a joke and is, apparently, being taken off ticket points allocation making it even more unfair.
I was told that the 18-25yo rep gave his own personal story of how difficult it was to get tickets and they ended up running with that and pushing it forwards.
What about other categories? I’m sure many categories may have had difficulties in the past but they aren’t getting any special treatment.
I can see a situation where the club gives its ‘partners’ more away tickets for package deals as we become more and more popular overseas. The club gets nowt but a headache from away tickets but this could be a way for them to make very good money if their partners offered an away ticket in a package short break costing hundreds or even thousands to someone from the middle or far east (or wherever).
The away ticketing system needs a proper holistic review, that’s as fair as possible to everyone, but that’s unlikely to ever happen with the club going the way it is.
With local fans providing less than 10% of total revenue, and It’s falling year on year, this disregard of the local fan base is only likely to continue.
City Matters is a very easy way for the club to ignore questions from fans (always batting them off to our elected representatives) and for them to push through unpopular ideas because they’ve been through the City Matters process.
Please note, I’m only here to discuss and engage. Abuse, which sometimes happens, isn’t necessary and it’s childish. Differences of opinion are allowed and debate should be civil.

The city matters reps have no anonymity on this site not sure you as a professional journalist should either.
That’s how I feelAs a fan I feel like I'm drifting further away from the club every year.
It pains me to say this.
